This weeks training went well! My workouts got a little funny-business at the end of the week…but it all worked out – it just means that next week is going to be a higher mileage week due to this weeks long run being run on Sunday (when the weather was 20+ degrees warmer than Saturday!). Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a SLS3 Dual Pocket Running belt (giveaway ends Tuesday evening!)!
Workout Recap
Marathon Training – Week 7
Sunday- recovery run or Pilates
30 minutes – Insanity Cardio Recovery
The day started with dished, laundry, and meal prep – and ended with the Superbowl – and due to being lazy busy, I wasn’t able to get in a running workout. When I got home from the Superbowl party, I completed a “recovery” workout at home before heading to bed. (the picture was from the drive over to the Superbowl party – the sky looked amazing!)
Monday – 4.5 mile – “easy” recovery run
55 minutes
Well, I set my Garmin Forerunner to run the threshold run for the day. Well,…not realizing that there was STILL a 25-35 mph wind whipping the city, I had to just settle into a pace that would keep me on the road and not blown around.
Tuesday – cross training
33 minutes – 21 DFX Upper Fix
I slept in a little this morning, but I was able to get in my morning cross training workout. The training plan called for a focus on arms and core – so the Upper Fix was a great option!
3.15 mile run
40 minutes
I needed to get away from work, and since I had my workout clothes, I headed to the gym. I dread the treadmill, but the wind and cold was a little much for me to enjoy my break.
Wednesday – 5.71 miles – interval run
62 minutes
Yep – slept in a little bit this morning and almost didn’t have the time for my workout! I was even calculating the time needed for the workout to see about pushing the run back to my lunch break – but the timing would have cut it WAY close! Out the door I went…
I also got in an evening run with the little man since the weather was AWESOME and I had a new reason to get a couple extra miles – #MilesForMiles
Thursday – rest day – what is this “rest” you speak of?
4.15 mile – easy run
I have a weekly date with running to the bank on Thursdays…and today wasn’t all that different. My pace was a little quicker than expected – I guess my legs are doing well 🙂
Friday – 3.2 run – easy run
40 minutes
I missed my morning run, bummer. I worked through my lunch, bummer. I got off work a little earlier than expected and since I had a little extra time, I went for a run around the park where little man’s daycare is.
Saturday – 1.1 mile warm up + 3.12 mile Sweetheart 5k + 4.2 miles elliptical
14 minutes + 31 minutes + 90 minutes
I had every intention to get out and get my long training run in before the 5k @9am. The 5 degree temps and my snooze button had other ideas and broke down my resolve. I then decided to use today for my 6-mile run (from Friday’s scheduled workout) and push my long run to Sunday. Plus, the high temp for Saturday is the low for Sunday…I’d be warmer overall just waiting a day!
Weekly Miles: 32.86 miles
Weekly Minutes: a lot of minutes 🙂
245.24 / 2,016 miles in 2016
