Now that winter is almost over, **knock on wood** I can start breaking out the shorts…or at least this week! I am excited for warmer temps…but I am not excited for hot summer days. For now, I can mix up my morning, lunch, and evening workouts…but pretty soon, I am going to be keeping it to a morning only schedule – once the temps are too warm for getting out later in the day. Am I really thinking about this now?! After a few days of “warmer” temps?! Oh well…a girl can dream!
Workout Recap
Marathon Training – Week 8
Sunday- 12.4 miles – long run
Since I had an interesting assortment of workouts on Saturday, none of which included my long run for the week, I decided to use Sunday as my long run day for the week. This means – that I will be having a longer mileage week due to 2 long runs! Let’s see how this goes…
Monday- 2.05 miles – recovery run
I lost track of time at work and didn’t get in a lunch run…more like a late afternoon break. My legs felt surprisingly fresh – especially after my long run the morning before. Then, since the weather was still nice, the little man and I went for a jog/walk in the evening.
Tuesday- 4 miles – recovery run
Took a nice lunch run on the linear trail
Wednesday- 5.5 miles – interval run
I am so glad that the weather has been amazing lately! I was able to get in my interval run over my lunch hour 🙂
Thursday- “rest” day – the warmest day this “winter” and this week; “rest” = “shmest”
4.5 miles – “easy” run
Friday- 5.65 miles – hills run
I have been missing out on my morning runs for a bit now…so I was glad to get out for a mild, morning hills run…I could even wear shorts!
Saturday- 15.3 miles – long run
Well, my long run started early! I planned on getting another mile or so in, but I just wasn’t feeling it! I am glad for the miles that I WAS able to get in today!
Weekly Miles: 52 miles
Weekly Minutes: a lot of minutes 🙂
298 / 2,016 miles in 2016

You are training for your first marathon, correct? So, I was just wondering if 15 miles was the longest distance you’ve ever run. If so, CONGRATULATIONS. If not, oops. LOL. 52 miles looks crazy tough when you have a Sunday and Saturday long run. Thanks for linking wit us Lindsey.

Yep! First full in April 🙂 My longest to date is 16 or 17 miles – but 15 isn’t too far behind!

You did a fantastic job on your runs, congrats! I wish I could say that we’re going to stick to spring weather in Philly, but it’s been so darn unpredictable lately!

The weather is still iffy this week…cold cold in the morning, mild chilly in the afternoon 🙂

Gosh, I remember my first 15 miler was tough on me for sure! Then I came back and did a 18 miler and it was like I had only ran 10! Marathon training is so different. You are doing a super job and I can’t even imagine trying to do it with a little one! Great job!
