Well, this week was WAY better than last week when it comes to getting active… I am in a bit of a running funk – but it could just be lingering fatigue from driving 16+ hours over the weekend and running a great race on Sunday. Either way, I am surely catching up on a little more sleep these days – my pillow has been my friend this week!
Workout Recap
Marathon Training – Week 13
Sunday- 13.35 miles – Rock and Roll Dallas
This run was a lot of fun! Lots of music…some nice hills…great crowd support…and a well paced run throughout!
Monday- 1 mile – walk break at work
This Daylight Saving thing is for the birds…I wasn’t able to crawl out of bed this morning and with the crazy amount of work going on at work, I was able to get out for a little walk to break up my day. I wish I could have done more…but some days, you just have to go with it!
Tuesday- no workout – didn’t try hard enough to get one in…
Wednesday- 4.1 mile morning run + 3.1 mile lunch run
Yes, a morning run! I am sure glad that I was able to get out for a morning run…it seems like the pillow has been winning this battle most days! I also was able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and get out for a lunch run 🙂
Thursday- 2 mile – easy paced lunch run
Well, all I wanted to do was get out for a little run…and that is surely what I got! At least I was able to get in 20 minutes outside rather than spend that time sitting at my desk…
Friday- 4.2 miles – afternoon run
Due to the crazy week at work, I was able to get off a little early… So I decided to go run around City Park 4 times 🙂
Well, I knew I didn’t want to run in the rain…but I also wanted to get in some miles today! I headed out super early to get a few miles before the weather changed… My long run will have to wait until Sunday morning.

I just started my training yesterday and so far my body is still having difficulty realizing that running is fun. I loved your post all the fun workout colors, the major milage, and your positive attitude loved it all!!! https://runningtomilan.wordpress.com/

It can be a rough start for sure! I started with a C25K similar program that was running and walking…eventually, it was just running! You’ll catch the bug once you have run your first race 😀

…whether or not I use them is a different story 😆 I love that many days is either a harder workout (interval, threshold, etc.) or an easy run…I can do what feels right for the day 😀

I hope you get caught up on sleep and feeling back to normal. Congrats on the well-paced race! Sounds like it was fun.
Sleep is one of the facets of training I always neglect, but I’m making an effort lately to get 7-8 hours per night.

I am feeling better and the alarm isn’t such a shock to hear these days 😀 I am the grandma of the house and once the little man is in bed, I feel like I should be too!

I think my funk is in my head and I just find a way to push through as much as I can. The sleep is def helping keep me motivated to get out and get a workout in 😀

Congratulations on a great RnR race! That is a lot of weekly miles to run in the week after your half marathon. You Rock! (and Roll!) I didn’t drive near the mileage you did, but traveling wipes me out. I was exhausted after our few days at the beach. I’m doing the Incredible virtual run too. I’d love for you to share a pic for a post race report. Thanks for linking with us Lindsey!

Thanks! I guess I didn’t realize how my traveling can take out of you… The Incredible Virtual Race looked like a good one for April 😀 Maybe we can swap pictures!
