Weekly Workout

winter 26.2 training w12 | Weekly Workouts

This is the week of almost no morning runs…not my idea of a great week, but the runs still happened! The afternoon winds kicked my bum mid week, but I made it through 🙂 My first 1/2 marathon of the year was built into my Saturday long run – a long run ending with a medal and snacks, yes, please!

Weekly Workouts

Monday- The snooze button and sink full of dishes kept me home this morning – even though the weather was ABSOLUTELY perfect for running! I cleaned up the house and packed my lunch running bag – nothing like some easy trail miles to start the week off right!

Tuesday- Well, no alarms, no morning run. While I could have scrambled to meet my friend, I just let her go on time…

Instead, I spend my lunch hour running my missed morning interval workout. I cut back the “recovery run” from 15 minutes to 5 minutes due to my limited time…rather that than one of the intervals – which I took the last one quite a bit slower anyway…so maybe I really did get more recovery at the end 🙂 Either way, it is done!

Wednesday- What is the deal with my mornings this week!? No alarms could get me out of bed…I think I am going to have to start moving my phone away from my bed again…with the LOUD alarm far enough away that I HAVE TO get out of bed to get to it before waking the entire house…THAT should kick this daylight savings slump…

Anywho…easy lunch run. Check!

Thursday- Darn morning routine this week!! I am not sure what needs to give to make my morning runs happen this week… At least I got out of bed around 5:30 this morning – but then I cleaned, did laundry, folded laundry, dishes…you name it, I did it.

One thing I also accomplished this morning, I packed my lunch run bag… Another interval workout in the books!

Friday- YES!! I finally beat the snooze button this morning! Yeah…I may have used it once, but I was able to get past the tired, “I don’t WANT to get out of bed” thing because I was proactive last night. I text my running buddy and said “Run?” She said yes…and our date was set! I wasn’t about to let her down since I was the one to start the convo 🙂

Saturday- There was a lot of running today!…but not completely as planned. I wanted to run 5 easy before the race, run 8 of the race easy, and then a faster 5 to the finish… All mile done!

Rather, I only ran 1 easy mile before (from the parking lot to the start), I ran the race faster than I anticipated but felt good, and then finished the morning with 6 miles on the treadmill (5 min run, 1 min walk intervals). All in a days work!

Sunday- One mile to keep my streak alive…

Weekly Miles : 51 miles

    1. The Wicked Half is not the OZ run…the OZ is in Olathe and is now called the Garmin – which I am running in a month!! 😀😀 I enjoy morning running but the time change is making it HARD.

  1. Nice week! That’s so nice you’ve got the option to run at lunch. The trails look gorgeous. Still nothing blossoming here, although the birds are back!

  2. I love a long run that ends with a medal and post race snacks! The Wizard of Oz themed medal is cute too. I’m always so impressed with your mileage. Which streak are you doing? Or, is it just one of your own? Congrats on another strong week of running. Thanks for linking, Lindsey!

    1. There are a lot of people that are drawn to these “oz themed” races – and my marathon in a month is also oz themed 😀😀 I am just doing my own streak…seeing if i can make it happen the whole year 😂😂

    1. Darn time change – at least that is my excuse… Also, being more mindful not to drink coffee after noon so I can get some more restful sleep at night. Hopefully it helps get my morning routine back in check!
