With quite a bit of rain and a strong snooze button game…the week was a little rough when it came to fitting in some miles. Another week down!!
Weekly Workouts
Monday- I’m not starting off the week all that great…went to bed on time, but I was restless and couldn’t stay asleep… I wanted to go to the gym this morning because the weather was going to be funny and I “enjoy” my interval workouts on the treadmill.
Oh well…at least I was able to get out for a mile over my lunch break!
Tuesday- I needed several alarms and a not-so-perky hubs to get me out of bed this morning. “Go run…” is what he grunted at me (…probably since I went to bed “early” the night before so I could ATTEMPT to get out for a run before work). Success!! While I wish that I would have just ran outside, the interval workouts are WAY “easier” when on a treadmill…for me.
Wednesday- This week is just not my week – I was successful getting out of bed yesterday, but the snooze almost won the morning today! I was able to get out for a quick, wet mile… While my training plan isn’t quite on track this week, I will be okay!
Thursday- Since this week has been a mess and still raining, I decided to get up on time early and get out to the gym! I knew I wanted to get in 8-10 easy miles before the weekend…long, easy runs are my favorite and I was able to catch up with some Netflix as well 🙂
Friday- I feel like a successful human when I wake up close to on time and am able to get out for a great run before the sun comes up!
Saturday- There’s nothing like a pending thunderstorm to put a damper on a long run…
I woke up a little late, which didn’t help. I checked the weather report around 4:20am and the storm would be within 30 miles around 5:30am…so I decided to head out for a few miles.
As I was running, I realized that since the gym opens at 7am, I could then go to the gym to get another 5-6 miles before the hubs needs to be up and getting ready for work…so I headed to the gym!
Sunday- I didn’t feel like getting wet this morning, so I waited for the slightly warmer afternoon temps to get out and run. With the focus on my HR, I kept the uphills slow slow, and was still able to hit a 9:30 downhill with an average of 133 HR! Low and slow…
Weekly Miles : 48 miles
691 / 2,017 miles in 2017
Next Week’s Projected Workouts
Next week might be a mixed bag… Since I didn’t get as many miles throughout the past week as a whole, this doesn’t mean that I am going to try and “catch up” this week.
I have a busy weekend ahead! I will be pacing the Rock The Parkway with the Smart Pacing team with the 2:40 group – and then after a quick shower and change, a group of us crazies are loading up and on the road to STL for the GO! St. Louis Marathon (half marathon for me…). Busy weekend…so excited!
Will I be seeing you at either event?? Shout it out!!

Thanks! As FB reminds me of last year, we had some WARM days like then! All the rain puts a damper on wanting to run outside…

You might have struggled out of bed, but you still pulled in a lot of mileage.. Great work! 2 half marathons in one weekend? Sheesh! Good luck!

Nicely done! I have those days where I just can’t get out of bed (I’ve had too many lately). I’ve started telling my fiance the night before, “Do NOT let me sleep in. Drag me out of bed if you have to.” He’s a good alarm clock 🙂

Mine is too…especially when I complain about not being able to get up 😉😉

I had a crappy start to the week sleep-wise too and it really put me in a funk! Managed to get up and get my workout in this morning and felt 100x better!

Oh yes!! I feel so much better and less likely to be snacking on junk after a good run 😊😊

Great job on keeping your HR under 140 on your 10 mile run. That can be very hard to do sometimes. Often, my Garmin will lose the HR number during a run and it looks like I’ve stopped running and laid down for a mile or two — then it’ll pick back up. I am beyond frustrated when that happens!! Thanks for linking, Lindsey!

Oh no! That would be frustrating! I am going to try for the low HR for a bit of tomorrow’s run…then pushing harder for a few miles, then back down. ☕️☕️ will help too 😂😂
