Another week down!! Only 4 weeks until my next challenge!! I’m coming for you Hawk…
Weekly Workouts
Monday- OFF
Since today is an off day, and I slept like crap after last nights long run, I walked around a little today. I walked 2 miles over my lunch break…
Tuesday- 4 miles
Holy hard miles.
Between my new cold-like-feeling in my face (congestion, sneezing, runny nose, etc.) and the mid-day heat, this was a R.O.U.G.H. run…
When I heard from my running pal Tuesday night about a Wednesday morning run, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel…
Wednesday- 12 miles
…but I was feeling great!
I was glad to have fresh legs and I was able to get out of bed close to “on time”. While I wanted to get out the door 20-30 minutes before I did, I was still able to get home around 7 am so the hubs could head out to the gym : )
Say wha?!
Hubs going to the gym at 7 am??
Yep, that’s what I said! Since he isn’t running at the moment (hello overuse injury runner’s knee…), he is using the bike and walking on the treadmill. I am really glad that he is still working hard to keep his fitness going!
Thursday- 8 miles 6 miles
Well, I didn’t get up and out the door when I wanted to, so I settled for 6 of my scheduled 8 miles. Upon arriving home, there was a sobbing toddler in my living room…little man had come downstairs and turned on all the lights in an effort to find me. He was quite upset so we sat down in an attempt to calm down. Once he was breathing better and could talk, he said that he was worried about me. Aww… “I am okay! I just went running. Now I am home. Are you okay now?”
I later found out that he woke up and wanted me to help him get to the bathroom…since he can use the bathroom on his own, the hubs let him cry for a bit…not sure if little man was told that I was out running and would be back soon, but whatever. We are all fine and dandy now…
After work and the hubs coming home, I headed out to get my last two miles in for the day – I ran to our cousins house to feed their cat and turtle…and then ran home (and a little extra)! #nopicture #diditevenhappen
Friday- OFF
Since the hubs is in a new workout routine, I was sure to let him know that Friday and Monday mornings are all his to go to the gym as early as he wants to… So he went to the gym and I finished packing up our weekend bags. Off to KC for the weekend…after work!
Saturday- 24 miles
I got my first taste of what my 50M is going to feel like in 4 weeks… I went out to the Clinton Lake trails with the Lawrence Trail Hawks to run a full preview loop of the course! While the trail is to be 25 miles long, I only came out with 23 and change…so I ran around in circles until my Garmin beeped : )
I would have headed back up the first trail to finish my miles, but a family stopped me due to a rattler sunning on the rocks… Good thing they came along!
Sunday- 10 miles
I slept in. I had breakfast. I lazied around… Eventually, I made it out the door for an easy 10 on the paved Mill Creek trail system. The afternoon heat wasn’t all that great, but there was quite a bit of shade, which helped!
Weekly Miles : 58 training miles + 3 walking miles
1518 / 2,016 miles in 2016
Next Week’s Projected Workouts
My biggest long run weekend is coming up this weekend! I am not sure how I am going to make it all happen…but all in the name of 50m training! I am only 4 weeks out now…and with my 2nd longest miles this coming weekend, I will be ready for the taper – big time!
Monday- OFF (cross training or yoga)
Tuesday- 4 miles
Wednesday- 12 miles
Thursday- 8 miles
Friday- OFF (cross training or yoga)
Saturday– 26 miles
Sunday- 10 miles

Sounds like you had a solid week! Those early runs are necessary in the summer to beat the heat. Hopefully not much longer we will get some fall like weather.

What a frightening experience for you son!!! A snake sunning on the rocks? Glad that family told you about it.

I was torn between wanting to SEE the snake and wanting to run far, far away… 😳😳

Haha, I think I would have felt the same way.

With kids, husband and I taking turns working out can be a balancing act! You sure do make it work! Poison Ivy on your face! Oh My!

Yeah…not sure how the poison ivy ended up on my face, but it is nearly gone now!

I had a bad case of poison ivy on my face years ago which required a steroid injection. I hope yours is better. I haven’t seen a single snake this year…and now that I’ve said that, I will. I’m glad the family warned you about that rattler.

My poison ivy is better now (with the help of a pred shot)…dealing with bug bites now 😳😩

You had some awesome mileage this week! I love that you ran around in circles until your Garmin beeped 🙂

Oh yes…a little OCD about whole miles for long runs 😜

You are so lazy, doing a 10 miler after 24 miles… lol! We’ve all done the run around until the garmin beeps.
I would not handle the whole snake thing well, if at all. This again is why I don’t run trails! I have enough snakes here in the city ;D

Ha! So many snakes in the city 😂😂

Poor little man (and I’m sure not what you wanted to come home to, either). At least the furkid are always happy to see me, LOL!

I used to be able to do that . . . somewhere along the way I seemed to lose it!
