Welcome to 2018!
While this is the first full training week of 2018, I am already into week 6 of my 50K training!
Want to know a secret?!
I haven’t signed up for the race that I am training for… BAH! I am not sure why I haven’t bit the bullet clicked the mouse yet – maybe I just want to see how winter running will treat me this year…maybe I am just SCARED. Probably a bit of both. The Wyco Trails are nothing to mess around with and I don’t have much time or ability to train on them… Nerves certainly have the best of me, for now.
Check back with me in a week or so to see if I have signed up yet… **face palm**
Any YouTube running movie suggestions?! I am going to need more for these long runs on the treadmill…
weekly workouts : week 6 (jan 1)
Monday- OFF
Off off off…it is cold outside…and I have a lovely hangover… It isn’t often that I drink (or let along drink to excess) but the kiddos were having a slumber party and the adults indulged a little…too much from my feelings today… Oh well. A rest day is VERY welcome in my life today : ) Happy New Year!!
Tuesday- 4 miles
A lazy morning left me to running the trails over lunch – a cool, brisk 25*F (real feel : 15*F) kept me moving and trying to keep warm!
Wednesday- 6 miles (2:1 intervals) 5.5 miles
With the intention of running in the morning…I slept in. Always. Since I needed 6 miles today, I decided to try for intervals again – at least I know I can get 5 or so with that workout.
Thursday- 6 miles (easy)
YYAAAASSSS!! I was FINALLY about to get out the door for a morning run IN THE ELEMENTS!! Yeah, it almost didn’t happen…I snoozed the alarm as many times as I could… Then I had a realization that I can’t run intervals again today AND my clothes are already laid out… So I got up, got dressed, let the dog out, fed all the animals, second guessed my decision again…let the dog back in, and headed out the door. BRRR! Dig Deep!
Friday-2 miles 18 miles (long run at the gym)
Yep, another Friday morning long run in the books! Next weeks 20 might be a little more interesting…but we’ll take one day at a time : ) Any YouTube running movie suggestions?! I need more suggestions…
Saturday- 18 miles OFF
I planned on trying to get in the 2 miles from Friday sometime today…but it was cold and I didn’t want to take little man out in it. Oh well…
Sunday- 10 miles 10 miles (long run, outside)
Rather than FREEZE on Saturday morning, my running buddy and I decided to hit the road in more than triple the temps today! It was 45 degrees today!!
Weekly Miles : 43.6 miles
Training Miles : 223 miles
Annual Miles : 43.6 miles (goal = 2,018 in 2018)
Did you see my post this past week about my goal for this year?! Yep…one goal. That’s it! One BIIIIGGG goal! Here’s to a busy year of running and balance ❤ Thank you Run Gum for keeping a pep in my step through training and Nick Symmonds for the inspiration to build my own path for the year for this monster of a goal 🙂 #buildthepath #rungum

You are a machine!! Seriously though you’re very dedicated and great about juggling workouts to get all the miles in. You’ve got this 100 miler! It’ll be work but I think you have what it takes for success!! Go get it!!
(Will you please post your running YouTube movie ideas and any others that readers share??)

Wow. Great week of training! I can’t imagine getting ready to run a 100 miler in any conditions, much less the deep freeze we’ve been experiencing! Nice work!

Great week of training for not having signed up for the race yet. There are a lot of races that are on my radar and i don’t sign up for them right away because I want to see how my training goes, so I continue to run consistently to just see how I feel.
