Summertime is a time for fun in the sun…but for this eight-to-five momma, I don’t always have the time or energy to keep moving after the workday is done.
With the help of the #livemorenow initiative with BUFF®, little man and I are going to go on some fun adventures this summer! If you live in Kansas, you know that summer is here and it is time to explore.
With the summer sun in full affect, little man and I have to be a little more creative to be able to get outside and live more now! With our BUFF® gear in hand, we hit another trail for a morning jaunt.
Little man sported my Brick BUFF® Pack Trek Cap to shield the sun from his face. I wore the new Polynesian Red BUFF® UV Multifunctional Headwear around my neck. We both are protected from the sun’s harmful rays with our great BUFF® gear [also with a little sunscreen].
Frank Anneberg Park is located on the west side of town with many sporting and recreational amenities [including ball fields, soccer fields, playground, and open trail]. Today, little man and I set out to explore the trail…
…and quickly got sidetracked by brightly colored play equipment. I love how bright the Brick BUFF® Pack Trek Cap is and how it fits different head sizes. Both little man and I can wear this cap comfortably without fail!
I guess today is more of a “go where the wind blows us” kind of adventure ♥
The day heated up fast and we needed to find a cooler spot to explore – the sun was really beating us in the play area! Rather than walking the rest of the trail, little man wanted to check out the water.
We decided to take a walk along the water’s edge of a small pond in the middle of the park – to find fish, squawk at birds, and question everything…and stopping along the way to throw rocks in the water.
Once we got closer to a sheltered area, we noticed a family of geese wandering around. There were a few adults and several little babies pecking around. While they were a little farther off, I noticed that they were slowly making their way over to us.
We sat down and just watched them while we cooled off in the shade.
They ended up getting so close to us! One of the mama’s would hiss in our direction but then back off when we didn’t advance or retreat. We kept our voices low and let them wander on by. This is not something that has ever happened and little man was so excited to see them all up close!
Before long, we were ready to go on with our day…in some AC for sure! But not before hitting the trail back to the can and getting a few rocks out of our shoes ♥
While spending a lot of time outside can be hard in the heat of the day, little man and I plan on going for adventures a little more in the “cooler” morning temps.
Exploring this summer is going to be so much fun! With a little help from BUFF® products, we are going to explore in style! Where to next little man [and Woody]?

That is a cute pic of you and your little guy! I recently discovered a new trail. I gotta remember my bug spray next time I run there though.
