Hawk100 w17 | training for 100M

I feel a peak week coming on!! This week should contain the most miles I have run in this cycle with a big final weekend of training! Time is flying and the taper is coming fast ♥

Let’s run!

weekly workouts : week 17 (aug 13)

Monday
Scheduled : OFF
Actual : OFF

A much needed and deserved rest day ♥

Tuesday
Scheduled : 3 miles
Actual : 3 miles

The start of peak week! It was pouring when I got up, so I slept in. I packed up a lunch run bag and set out for the day. Due to a sequence of events , I forgot my workout bag at home but was saved by a $1 garment sale at work where I was able to get some new gear – 3 pieces used for my lunch run (top, bra, capris)! No excuses today – even with the 100% humidity from the constant storms today.

Wednesday
Scheduled : 4am/4pm miles
Actual : 4 morning miles + 4 afternoon miles

These types of runs are “easy” for me…I enjoy running in the morning and I enjoy running in the afternoon. The miles were low so I made it work! The pup joined me for 1/2 of the morning jaunt and I hit the trail for my afternoon run ♥

Thursday
Scheduled : 6 miles
Actual : 3 miles + 3 miles

Late night – thank you hubs and your movie ♥ EARLY morning – not a lot of sleep, but at least I got my miles in before the day truly started! Now bring on the coffee…

Friday
Scheduled : 4 miles
Actual : 3 miles

For some reason, I thought I only needed 3 miles today…whoops! With being on my feet all day for over 12K steps, I think I made up for it.

Saturday
Scheduled : 35 miles
Actual : 35 miles

(written before the weekend)
This weekend of miles is going to be interesting. There is a group run out at the lake trails where my first 100 miler will be held in a few weeks – Clinton Lake, Lawrence, Kansas. There is a group of 100-milers that are running 50 miles today. While I would like to have this distance in this training cycle…I am not sure it will happen. I am not sure if I will buck-up and just run the 50, or if I will run 20 either Friday or Saturday and just run the 35 on Saturday… We’ll see!

(written after the run)
Today just wasn’t the day for 50 miles. It is were a race, I would have been able to muscle through…but with this weekend’s miles TECHNICALLY being broken up in my plan, I was quite alright saving the last 20 for Sunday.

Sunday
Scheduled : 20 miles
Actual : 20 miles

While I opted to sleep in a little and not get my whole mileage completed before the Athleta event, I woke up refreshed. Checking the time and distance to the store (approx. 11 miles), I decided to run to the event, complete the event, and run back! Crazy, yes. I ended up being ready to go a little later than expected and asked for a ride a couple miles down the road – I only need 20 (not 22) after all! I skipped the running portion of the event, but made up for it with the 3 instructor-led cardio sessions. My trip home was going to be interesting…ha! Once the event was over, I headed back. Within 2 miles, it started to rain – so I told text my MIL that she would have to come get me if there was lightning…which there didn’t end up being. So I made my way back, in the rain of varying degrees, and got all 20 miles in! Yaass!

Weekly Miles : 75 miles
100m Training Miles : 995 miles
Annual Miles : 1644 miles (goal = 2,018 in 2018)

Miles, miles, miles! Check out the weekly workout
