This week was a great week for running! The mornings were cool (plain crisp some mornings) and the afternoons were great (for the most part). This weather makes me want to skip my morning run and just run in the afternoon…but with a hectic work schedule, I would rather get my workout completed early in case something happens and I cannot get away… Morning runs + beautiful afternoons = multiple runs on some days! As long as I keep my pace and HR easy, I am always willing to go for another run 🙂
I would totally love you to follow me on Instagram and check out my workouts before my weekly wrap! I am always use the extra motivation to get out and run!
Weekly Workouts
Monday- I started my day with a quick trip to the gym to get in a few miles before work…then, when I got to work, the servers were down – no internet, no phones, no nothing! So I worked on what I could for part of the day and headed home early! Well, “home” is the gym today… I decided to just relax and run!
Tuesday- Since I missed my interval workout on Monday morning and took it easy Monday afternoon, I decided to make up that workout today! My interval run lasted 3.5-4 miles…but my movie was still playing, so I just kept running – or intervals of running and walking until my movie was over (and then a little more until I hit the next mile)…
Wednesday- Due to the “recovery run” on the schedule, I decided to stick around home and run outside! 25 degrees didn’t seem all that bad! I took my Knuckle Lights for another run and I am so glad I have them! Even when I am wearing my reflective vest and additional Brilliant Reflective safety strips, cars don’t generally care to give me a little more room on the side of the road. NOT TODAY! I’d say that 9 out of 10 cars that passed me gave me almost the entire lane – and with more distance for me to see that they were giving me room (versus the “swervers” that decide at the last minute that they are going to give me space)! I had so much less anxiety today than I do sometimes on the dark back-country roads!
If you are interested in Knuckle Lights, you can save a little on your online order by using the discount code “BIBRAVEPRO” at checkout for 10% off your order. I would highly recommend them if you ever run in the dark! Also, join in the #BibChat this Tuesday evening (8PM CT) on Twitter – talk with BibRave and KnuckleLights about all things running!
Since the day was AMAZING, I decided to take an easy trail run – which is only 1/2 trail, 1/2 road once all is said and done. 1 mile to the trail, 2 miles (out and back) on the trail, 1 mile back to work… Nearly 60 degrees in January, yes, please!! I can only wish that the warm temps will come back over little man’s late January birthday weekend 🙂
Thursday- Today is technically my R.E.S.T. day…but I couldn’t help but say yes to Angie when she text me Wednesday night to go run! We haven’t been able to run together for a while now… While I am SURE there was a lot more to talk about, we covered a few bases, I talked about running (typical), and we were soon back home!
Friday- Another morning, another time to take advantage of the morning! I went to bed relatively early last night…so I wanted to get to the gym early for my interval workout… Well, the snooze won out for a little bit and I didn’t get to the gym early enough to get in my whole interval run…so I just took it easy! 2 miles easy – followed by 45 minutes of yoga – followed by another 2 miles walking on the treadmill. I didn’t feel like running anymore…so I just walked! While I didn’t get my scheduled interval workout in, I was able to get a little sweat and stretch time in before work!
Saturday- While I don’t often seem to be able to get out of bed on time, I was able to get out and get 5 solo miles before the group 6 🙂 I also spread a little inspiration spark with my running pal Angie!
Sunday- While my alarm went off, my legs did not want to get up and go! Oh well…a lazy day of not feeling well meant that I only put one mile on my legs before bed – and I am okay with that! I would liked to have a couple more, but it was cold and getting late. I’ll save the energy for tomorrow morning’s interval run 🙂
Weekly Miles : 50.5 miles

Wow! 50 miles for the week, that is great! It was really nice here too in the 60s one of the days so I couldn’t resist a run. Unfortunately it rained the next couple so had to resort to the treadmill.

Wow! Great week for you! I’m still in my running off-season and taking it easy on my hamstring but I did put a tri on my schedule for May so there’s that.

I’m excited to read about your tri training! I have yet to have that itch…

50.5 Miles for this week is very awesome Lindsey, especially while the weather is so cold! It’s good you didn’t push Sunday for the extra miles and rather saved your energy for interval training the next morning. When you’re super tired and your body is in need for a well deserved break you need to take a break!
Awesome running log and very inspiring! Have a great week (Running) Lindsey!

The weather certainly doesn’t help most days this time of the year – but the gym is a great outlet to use 🙂 Stay warm!

Kick ass mileage, and you make the effort look easy! Sure, you had a day where a planned workout didn’t happen, but you had a rest day that didn’t happen either. So you are goo!

What an impressive week of mileage you had! I’m taking some extra recovery time so there hasn’t been much running for me. I still have a Y membership but never go. I’d rather be outside than in a gym, if possible. Thanks for linking, Lindsey!
