Wow,… Thursday…we meet again!…There is a little to talk about with Amanda and her Thinking Out Loud Thursday’s 🙂
But first…
Coffee 🙂
…just stuff
For whatever reason…I was really enjoying the randomness on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter this week 🙂
I love this…
meal prepping…
For whatever reason, this picture made me think of my hubs…HAHAHAHA!! He calls “meal prepping” a different phrase for “leftovers”. While I SLIGHTLY agree, my meal prepping food isn’t typically eaten when it is prepped…it is saved and stored for the next day (and the following several days).Â
Whatever, as long as I am not spending excess money each day outside of our grocery bill, I will eat leftovers forever…
The Boston Marathon
I totally want to go to the showing for this movie – but the closest theater is in Lawrence… Maybe I could talk the hubs into taking care of little man, taking off work a little early, meeting up with some Lawrence running pals, and heading off to the theater…
Maybe…HOPEFULLY!!
hahaha…
I feel like this is how our kitty Barley would think of himself in the “mirror…” 🙂
Our Barley is more likely going to be trying to pick a fight with the cat in the mirror that is 10 times his size.
going for a run!
I totally could live without coffee…I say this often, but I still drink it! I love the taste of coffee…and I will go on the record that I would drink a good cup of decaf coffee over anything caffeinated ANY DAY of the week! — as long as I already went for a run 🙂
challenges
I am always game for a good challenge! Coming soon will be my next week long challenge – this time, it is with the The Bikini Experiment 5 Day Bikini Jumpstart Challenge 🙂 I am not sure what all it will have involved – but I always enjoy the added support, guidance, meal swaps, and accountability that challenge groups bring!
on a more serious note…
I have read and seen this story so many times now! I run solo (as many of us do) without a care in the world…the BAM! Something like this is broadcast across the airwaves…
I am glad this woman is safe and stronger from this experience – but it doesn’t always go that way. I have had a couple startling experiences while out running, but nothing this bad!
Most recently, last week, I ran to a park close to my work – a park that I frequent often. I ran the main roads to get to this park, rather than the trails. On my route back to work, I was running against traffic on the edge of the road and a car going the same direction as me nearly clipped my elbow with their rear-view mirror!! There is NO ONE on the other side of the road, no cars, no people, no animals, NOTHING! My worst thought is that they were TRYING to drive as close to me as they could…all the windows down, just to hear my reaction!Â
No matter how familiar you are with your route or surroundings, there are people that could care less about your safety and security.Â
In reaction to this story, our local running company is planning a women’s defense class! I have taken a couple of these classes before and I look forward to being able to brush up my skills and have a better idea of how to defend myself in different situations.Â
Check out the linkup with Amanda to see what everyone is thinking (out loud) this Thursday!
I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and start a conversation!
