August Running

I really enjoy linking up with Tuesdays On The Run – after all, my blog is MOSTLY running based, with a little real life sprinkled in… 

Last week, ErikaMarcia, and Patty discussed, “Giving your running month a letter grade”! I am going to try and post something similar month to month…

This grade is going to be based on (1) my current training plan, and my goals for 2017 – (2) my progress for 2017 miles in 2017 goal, (3) training for and completing my first 50 miler, (4) having fun while on the run and (5) keeping a run streak! 

(1) Current Training Plan – B+

Through the month of August, I worked through my training plan to the best of my abilities. There were several long runs that came up short due to timing and weather…but I make it work!

(2) 2017 miles in 2017 – A

I am still running (pun pun) ahead of schedule with my miles for the year! I will have nearly 1700 miles to end the month of August…not sure on exact numbers, but Sept will start with 1700 – 317 to go!!

(3) Training for and completing my first 50m – A-

Only a week away from my first 50m! I know it is going to be hard, the weather keeps getting warmer for that weekend…but it will all be worth it to get across that finish line!!

(4) Have Fun! –  A-

For the most part, running is always “fun” for me…having “fun” running can sometimes make me seem like a crazy person – especially to my hubs. He doesn’t find running fun yet…it is more of a chore. I enjoy the time out on the road or trail, so that makes it fun for me!

(5) Run streak! –  n/a

I sort of stopped caring about having a run streak earlier this year. While starting a run streak kept me moving closer and closer to my 2017 mile goal for the year, it is not something I keep in mind much anymore. Currently, taper-time and recovery is my focus : )
