I have been running consistently for roughly 5 years now…and one of the first products I used was Nuun. So, I have been using Nuun for years! There have been a few new flavors and new products along the way and I have tried most of them.
This year Nuun came out with a new product called Nuun Immunity. When we were given the chance to try it as a BibRave Pro, I jumped at the opportunity!
As a runner, keeping up with your water and electrolyte intake is key to stay hydrated – hence why I started using Nuun ages ago. With all of the fun and fruity flavors, I am always trying new and exciting combinations – half tab of this or that always leads to something new.
The new flavor combinations of the Nuun Immunity intrigued me – Orange Citrus and Blueberry Tangerine. Of the two, I cannot pick a favorite because they are each so great! The Orange Citrus is a more common flavor for an “immune support” flavors (in my history) and I was surprised how much I liked the Blueberry Tangerine. I love that I can keep a tube easily in my bag so I can fulfill my sweet tooth on the go and support my immune system at any time!
Speaking of which, my immune systems can go a little crazy this time of the year. So the opportunity to test this product couldn’t have come at a better time! I started testing the new Nuun Immunity a couple weeks before my first 100 mile event – a time when the taper crazies always make me sick.
I started taking Nuun Immunity the weekend my taper began – so my tired body was about to start going a little crazy. While I was able to fend off any major illness, I still got sick with some sinus stuff…which always happens this time of the year.
I have been able to keep up with at least 1 Nuun effervescent tab a day to keep me hydrated and the additional immunity support is a bonus! Nuun Immunity tabs contain :
- elderberry extract – plant-based antioxidant
- organic turmeric – plant-based anti-inflammatory + antioxidant
- echinacea purpurea – plant-based antioxidant
- organic ginger powder – plant-based anti-inflammatory
- zinc/selenium – antioxidants
- vitamins a, c, d and e – antioxidants
- electrolytes – magnesium, potassium, chloride, calcium, sodium
- organic sugar – binder, sweetener, helps facilitate absorption of vitamins/minerals
- citric acid – plays key role in effervescence, used for production
- stevia leaf extract – zero-calorie, plant-based sweetener
- avocado oil – clean, plant-based oil for production
While I am not a fan of the added sugar, I know that Nuun is proponent of making a clean product and the new Immunity line is no different. The one thing that you would need to be observant of is what you are mixing your Nuun Immunity in. I put some leftover Orange Citrus in a soft flask to take on my run and I now my blue bottle is a fun shade of yellow/green (due to the turmeric staining the plastic). Lesson learned!
Now that the weather is bouncing around from hot to cold (hello Kansas in the fall), I am keeping up with taking my Nuun Immunity daily. There are too many people coughing and sneezing around me at work – so the additional immune support is very welcomed! Get yours today!

That blueberry tangerine is delicious! It’s not a flavor that I would have picked on my own, so I’m happy to have received it. Lesson learned. 🙂
