Woah! Don’t you hate when you find a post you THOUGHT you released but is in your drafts… yeah…
This week started with some optimism that I would be able to get in some good running miles…but with the stress of work, life, and more life, I didn’t end up getting many miles. I guess I am taking a major taper week for next week’s double…ha!
weekly workouts
Monday
Scheduled : no plans
Actual : 3 miles
I felt like I was FINALLY able to get out for a few runch miles! The mornings are chilly and the afternoons are warm – so running in the middle of the day appeals to me WAY more.
Tuesday
Scheduled : Brew Tour Group Run – OZ Winery
Actual : 1.35 miles
Little man and I hit the road to Wamego for this week’s group run. After a short drive, we arrived at the OZ Winery. It was a nice surprise to see that they brought in two great companies to let us try their gear – Saucony and Garmin! I tried a pair of shoes but I kept me trusty Garmin (so I wouldn’t be tempted for another upgrade…ha!).
We ran around the park and down one of the streets we know well – because our friends love down the road. As we approached, a cat came bounding across the street to greet us – it was Sparky! So we hung around the house a little and then put him in the yard so he wouldn’t follow us. We played at the park for a little bit before backtracking to the winery. Agan, we ran into Sparky…so we hung around for a bit for someone to take him into the house – or at least where he wouldn’t follow us away again.
After our run, we went back to the park to play a little longer and then hung out with our friends for the rest of the night.
Wednesday
Scheduled : no plans
Actual : OFF
Thursday – Friday
Scheduled : no plans
Actual : OFF
On Thursday, I took dad to his LAST big chemotherapy treatment. We spent the morning in the hospital and the afternoon at home. While I didn’t get in my run, I got in over 10K steps walking around the house cleaning everything up.
On Friday, we headed to KU Hospital early to get checked in and settled in for the next couple weeks. This will not be a vacation for dad – he will not always be in a good place physically and mentally. Please continue to pray for health improvements and send all of the positive vibes his way! #fuckcancer
Saturday – Sunday
Scheduled : no plans
Actual : OFF
I don’t have too many excuses…other than just being tired. I planned on going in to work early on Saturday…but when I turned off my alarm with the decision to get a little more sleep, I didn’t even think about running… Worked a little, played a lot (library trip, park playtime with friends, naptime, and then a slumber party). The hubs and I had a date night Saturday night and didn’t get home until after 1am! Talk about a long day and long night! We both opted for sleeping in Sunday morning…so no running then either. I guess I am hitting the taper hard for our Scoobtober 10K this coming week!
Weekly Miles : 4 miles
Annual Miles : 1856 miles (goal = 2,018 in 2018)
