spring training | week 2

This week has been slow moving…but I guess that is how it is these days!

I wasn’t able to get out for any miles, which is mostly due to my lack of motivation and lack of wanting to risk falling on the ice… Yeah, I could have gone to the gym, but I can get a good aerobic workout in my living room with the Transform 20 6 week plan. I feel good about the effort I can put in – even with some modifications.

I also found out this week that I will be running at the Kansas City Marathon at the end of October! I need to rapidly decide on which distance (leaning towards the 10K since I haven’t run this race at that distance before) and you can run with me!! Register today (or anytime up until registration closing) and save 15% with the discount code BIBRAVE2019KCM at checkout! Depending on my recovery process, this will likely be my first running event after baby number 2!

Let see how the week panned out!

weekly workouts : week 2

Monday
Scheduled : T20 Burn + 30 minute run
Actual : T20 Burn

New week! New motivation (at least for today). I am still not willing to go out to the gym right now…not sure why, but I would rather just go downstairs and get in my workout than sweat it out at the gym…

Tuesday
Scheduled : T20 Faster
Actual : OFF

My plans were dashed by snoozing my alarms and then not being motivated after work to get anything productive accomplished. I guess that is how it goes sometimes!

Wednesday
Scheduled : T20 Strength + 30 minute run
Actual : T20 Faster

As much as I WANT to run right now, the weather is keeping me inside. I am surely making this pregnancy my crutch…but with freezing rain on the ground, I am not about to risk it! I completed yesterday’s missed workout in the living room…so that was a plus!

The major bonus for today was that I had a prenatal doctor’s appointment and I got to hear the baby again. The heart rate was in the mid-to-high 160s last time (4 weeks ago) and it was in the upper 140s to 150s today. I don’t remember what little man’s were in those early appointments but his was in the upper 130s at his 20-week sono. Who knows what this baby’s sex will be… We will know soon enough!

My last “bonus” for today was that I found out I haven’t gained any weight since my first prenatal appointment! With my better eating habits and working out (albeit not running NEARLY as much as I would like or hope), I have been able to maintain my weight. My body and baby are still growing – if you have seen me, you would like this as a fact. But not gaining a bunch of weight is a great thing because I gained like 70lbs with little man due to poor diet and not working out… I also had gestational diabetes the first time around which didn’t help the situation. I am still perfectly fine with gaining weight through the remainder of this pregnancy, which will happen sooner than later I’m sure.

Thursday
Scheduled : T20 Powerful
Actual : T20 Strength

I somehow dragged myself out of bed with enough time for a workout…and we even got out of the house a little early! Win! I planned on doing the second workout (the one I should have done this morning to make up for a missed day this week)…but hanging out with little man took over my evening.

Friday
Scheduled : T20 Cut
Actual : T20 Powerful

Saturday
Scheduled : T20 Balanced + 45 minute “long” run
Actual : T20 Cut + T20 Balanced

Well, yesterday I thought about doubling up my workouts, but I just didn’t have the energy. So after having a living room huddle with my community members (yeah, I somehow kept my house clean for it…), I settled little man into a nap and started up my TV. After the first workout “flew by”, I decided to just get the second one done and have an actual rest day from living room workouts on Sunday.

Sunday
Scheduled : OFF
Actual : OFF

I REALLY wanted to be able to get in a run, but the weather was not great…so I wimped out.

Weekly Workouts : 6 workouts
Weekly Miles : 0 miles (ouch!)
Total 2019 miles : 25.35 miles
