This mini training cycle is complete…and I am as ready as I can be!
Weekly Workouts
Monday- Since yesterday ended up being a double long run, I decided to take it easy today. With the marathon this weekend, I could use the recovery time : )
Tuesday- Yesterday’s workout should have been intervals…but I saved them for today’s group run! 10 minute warm up (or 1 mile), 5 minute threshold w/1 minute walk (x2) (or roughly over a mile or so…), and a cool down! In the 3 mile-ish set up of the evening group run, this workout is perfect! Plus, the stroller adds some extra strength training 😉
Run : 3 mile group run (intervals)
So. I have been testing out the RunGo App for a bit now, and I have only found one hiccup (other than the funny run on my blog post). The RunGo App does not like riding in the stroller…there might be something to carrying your phone and not sliding it into the stroller with the kiddo. Our evening run last Sunday didn’t record and neither did today’s group run! Oh well, just seems like the app needs the bouncing of a body or hand to react and record. Otherwise, it thought I wasn’t moving…
Wednesday- I received a new gadget in the mail yesterday (yeah,…after the group run) and it needed to be used…and used well. So my scheduled 3 mile run turned into 4…no biggie!
Well…I thought “no biggie”…but my pacer pal called me out for needing to taper for this weekend’s marathon. Oh well…I’ll take it easy the rest of the week for sure!
Run : 4 easy miles
Thursday- OFF
Friday- A nice cool morning, 2 mile shake-out before a short day at work, a hustle packing session, 2-hour drive to the Health and Fitness Expo for the Kansas City Marathon on Saturday…and some chill time with friends and family : )
Run : 2 easy miles with the pup and Ang
Saturday- Kansas City Marathon
Sunday- RECOVERY
Weekly Miles : 35 miles
1898 / 2,016 miles in 2016
Next Week’s Projected Workouts
Another race down!!
Last week was fun and busy…so I am excited to just “relax” for a bit this week. My last 2017 pacing gig is in 2 weeks – the Kansas Half Marathon in Lawrence, KS. After that, I will be aiming to hit the trails for a Wyco winter loop for the Alternate Chili Run the first weekend in December!

I love how blase you are about running a marathon. It’s like, oh yeah, and I ran a marathon. 🙂

I just enjoy running…if I get a medal and aid throughout, the better 🙂

That’s weird about the GoRun App not thinking you were moving because it was in the stroller. Great job on pulling 15 minutes off your marathon time. I think that ultra training paid off! 😉 And my, that KC medal looks HUGE! Thanks for linking!

Yeah, I guess since it doesn’t sense my “back and forth” motion of running, it just acted like i didn’t move at all. Weird.
