Weekly Workout

last pacing | weekly workouts

Well, this isn’t my last pacing weekend for FOREVER, just for 2017… Since my marathon last month, I just haven’t gotten into a good groove with “training”. Since there isn’t too much I can “train for” between races, I have just been recovering, running when I can or have the motivation to, and “conserving my energy” for this weekend! At least that’s what I tell myself…

Did you check out my blog post last Friday about the open BibRave Pro applications? If you are reading this, you should probably check it out : )

weekly workouts

Monday- OFF

Tuesday- 3 miles – Miss Pai and I went out for a short cold run down the street and back. While the chill is manageable, I sure wish we were going to have a “fall season”.

Wednesday- OFF – I packed up my workout bag for a lunch run…but just got busy at work and couldn’t get away… Happens sometimes! I think that if I had a set training plan, I would have been more set on getting away for a run, but I am just going with the flow until after this weekend’s event.

Thursday- 3.1 miles – Another morning that Miss Pai sweet talked me into bringing her with me for my morning run. Angie and I planned on our shorter 2.5 (or so) mile route and we were able to stretch it to a solid 5K.

Friday- OFF – Remember that bag that I packed on Wednesday – yep, still packed. So I grabbed it for a short lunch run…and the business of the workday didn’t allow for me to get away.

Sheesh!

I should probably just get up in the morning…which might be a little easier starting next week!

Saturday- miles – I set my mind to running one group run lap with the crew. Since the 6 mile meet up was about a mile from my house, this made it easy to get a little warm-up before trying to keep up with the other, faster runners : )

Sunday- 13.1 miles – Kansas Half Marathon, Lawrence, KS – pacing the 2:45

Weekly Miles : 25 miles
1939 / 2,017 miles in 2017

Next Week’s Projected Workouts

Next week starts another mini training cycle. I was given the opportunity to receive a race registration transfer from a friend for a KC trail race – the Alternate Chili Run. Yea, there is chili involved, but only once the race is finished (none of that “eat a bowl of chili each mile…or whatever). I have run the trails at the Wyandotte State Park before, but this course uses a different loop – the “winter loop” (versus the “summer loop” that I ran 3 times in August).

Monday- OFF
Tuesday- miles
Wednesday- miles
Thursday- miles
Friday- 2 miles
Saturday- miles
Sunday- 14 miles

Beyond this mini cycle and the next 50K cycle, I am thinking ahead to next fall (yeah, ALREADY). I am starting to plan my first 100 mile attempt at the Hawk! Same event as my first 50 miler this year…but longer (twice as long…and then some)… Oh boy.

Bring on the trails!
