Due to being a short work week with some pretty nice days, I ran more than I should have…but low, slow miles are good for the soul. Plus, little man got to enjoy more miles with me on the road and trail than ever before! A lot of fun in the warmer November sun…
weekly workouts
Monday- OFF
“Rest days” are no fun when the weather is nice…trust the training, trust the training…
Tuesday- 2 miles 4 miles
I saved my energy for the group run tonight…it was still a little chilly, but nothing a blanket and gloves couldn’t help with! Little man didn’t care for the cold (or listening to mom) very much…
Wednesday- 4 miles
I planned on running in the morning…but that just didn’t happen. Then I thought I would run over lunch, but the hubs work had their Thanksgiving lunch…so I pushed it back a little more. I decided that since I had the stroller in my car, I would run over to little man’s daycare to pick him up, and then run back to work to get my car…but it got dark…FAST. Note to self : always have a headlamp handy!
Thursday- 4 miles 5 miles
Happy Thanksgiving! I planned on going to the group run, but the alarm that woke me up was at 6 am – the starting time of the group run. Whoops! I brought my running clothes to our family lunch and planned on going out sometime after the meal settled… Success!
Friday- 2 miles 6 miles
So the weather today is amazing…so I decided that little man and I were going to go on my long run today! Hello 70s at the end of November – yes, please! It also helps that I don’t have a babysitter today…so I can’t go in to work…which makes a great day to play hookie and go to our favorite donut shop!
Saturday- 8 miles 6 group run miles
Since I have a “race” next weekend, I decided that I could let up on my miles some this weekend. One group run loop it is! The weather was cool, but felt good!
Sunday- 12 miles nearly 6 miles
While I planned on going for a mid-morning run, the time flew and it ended up being a late morning, early afternoon run…as long as I was home before the hubs wanted to go out for a couple hours. Rather than heading to the Konza (rolling, grassy hills) or Fancy Creek (the terrain I wanted to run on – rocky, hilly, rough), I decided to just head to thee closer river trail. While I did get some trail miles, they were not quite the difficulty I was looking for today. Either way, trails are trails and worth all the time!
Weekly Miles : 32 miles
2032 / 2,017 miles in 2017
Next Week’s Projected Workouts
Next week is supposed to start my next training cycle for the Run Toto Run 50K at Wyandotte Park, KS at the end of February. Since I have a 10 mile race planned this coming weekend, the schedule is a little different than planned (short a few miles), but it will all work out in the end!

How exciting to begin training for a 50k! Your weather looks like it was all over the place this week. I must say I love the way you improvised with the calf sleeve to hold your phone. Clever. Thanks for linking!

I’m excited and nervous about the 50k – I have 2 this coming year and they both are basically training runs for a bigger race 😬 👍

Hasn’t the weather been amazing? It’s not in the 70’s here but I’ll take 60 any day at the end of november. All the best with your 50k training!

Jealous of your trail run! Hoping we get one or two more nice days so I can get a trail run in before the snow falls.
