Run Toto Run 50K w1 | training for 100M

weekly workouts : week 1

Monday- OFF – I was a good girl and stayed in-active. Even though it was the warmest day this week is going to have and I even brought my workout bag to work… Oh well. Rest and recovery is good for me. Rest and recovery is good for me…

Tuesday- miles
A couple of easy-ish paced miles with the pup! Miles are never EASY with her because she is …crazy…but with my Weav Run tunes going, my cadence was up and that kept me from getting pulled around too bad.

Wednesday- miles
I would have loved to get out and run with my pup this morning, but I went into work EARLY. So, I brought my workout bag and decided to head out for a lunch run – or #runch. The trails were beautiful today – a wonderful mid-50s day! 

Thursday- miles
So, I have found that if I want to run in winter temps, I should run in the morning. If I want to run in fall temps, I need to head out in the afternoon… Plus, I love hitting the trails in the afternoon because I can see the trail : )

Friday- 2 miles 1 mile – I planned on getting up and running with the pup this morning, but it just didn’t happen. I needed to run drive home over lunch to pack up for this weekend (yep, procrastination always wins) and I took the pup out for a mile 🙂

Saturday- 8 miles Alternate Chili Run 10m Trail Run
I first ran the Wyandotte trails last summer – and this loop is the “winter loop”. A little different, but still beautiful! I cannot wait to run these trails again for the Run Toto Run 50K in February! 

Sunday- 12 miles 8 miles
Rather than go for the scheduled 12, I decided to take it a little easier with 8 miles. Kept my HR low – below 130s most of the run.

Weekly Miles : 29 miles
2053 / 2,017 miles in 2017


Next Week’s Projected Workouts

While next week is technically week 2 of my next training cycle, it hardly feels like it! With an early 2018 race, the training plan really sneaked up on me! And the cold is starting to set in…HARD, which it is December…I guess it should be cold anyway, ha!

Wednesday- miles
Thursday- miles
Friday- miles
Saturday- 14 miles
Sunday- 8 miles
