spring training | Endure Strong w6

Disclaimer: I received free entry to Hospital Hill races and also received an Endure Strong training program as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

This week went well overall! Some highs (good feeling intervals) and some lows (local flooding issues and little sleep) kept me on my toes…and finishing the week with the Hospital Hill 10K was just what I needed!

The training with my Endure Strong Training plan has been going really well! With this weekend being my last week on my first “training cycle” with them, I am happy to report that I look forward to working with the team this fall!

I have some running plans for this spring and then in the fall…but we’ll see what all gets accomplished. I am not in complete control at this point – but here is what is on the calendar to this point :

  • Garmin Half Marathon (4/13/19) CHECK!
  • Bill Snyder Highway Half (5/25/19) CHECK!
  • Hospital Hill Run (6/1/19) – THIS WEEKEND!
  • Kansas City Marathon (10/20/19) – run with me, any distance really, and save with the discount code BIBRAVE2019KCM – good for 15% off!

While ALL of these plans are in my calendar, I have high hopes that this pregnancy will allow me to run to my heart (and legs) content!

Let’s see how this week went!

spring training | new plan w6

Monday
Scheduled : 3 miles easy
Actual : 1 mile walk — With the day off from work, I stayed in with family today. Little man and I were able to get out for a mile walk before heading to a friends house for the afternoon — so I was able to at least get that one in!

Tuesday
Scheduled : Mile Breakdown Workout (1m @ 10K, 1200m @ 5K, 800m @ 5K minus 10s, 400m @ 1M)
Actual : 2 mile walk — Rather than go for a run in the questionable weather, I went for a walk to the store for lunch. Within a minute of walking back into work, the sky opened up and the downpour started — good timing!

Wednesday
Scheduled : 3 miles easy
Actual : 3.5 mile run (yesterday’s interval workout) + 2 mile walk

My body wanted me to hit the snooze this morning, but I knew I had a doctors appointment over my lunch break…so a lunch run wasn’t going to happen! So I got up and got out early. Later in the day, it was still super nice, so little man and I packed up the pup and went for a couple mile walk.

Thursday
Scheduled : 6x800m @ 5K; 1-1 recovery + 3 mile easy run
Actual : 3.15 miles — Snooze wins today! I had a stressful evening last night…with our local/regional dam reaching its highest water elevation in 26 years, there are some major water releases happening. Which means our daycare is no longer open since they were flooded out in ’93. Through the scramble, I was able to secure another spot for little man for at least the rest of this week and possibly the summer… Needless to say, I was pooped this morning and could use the rest (between my alarms going off).

Lunch run it is!!

Friday
Scheduled : 2 miles easy
Actual : 1 morning mile with the pup — we got out late, so we got in what we could!

Image may contain: one or more people and dog

Saturday
Scheduled : 10K Race
Actual : Hospital Hill 10K

What started as some questionable weather ended up being a pretty great morning for a run! Although the humidity was way high, the cool morning breeze felt nice and my BRP pal Katy and I talked the miles away! I’ll have a longer post in the coming week about my full experience!

Sunday
Scheduled : “rest” day
Actual : OFF — With a lazy day and baby “sprinkle” on the schedule, I took it easy! No running. No walking. Just relaxing.

Miles, miles, miles! Check out the weekly workout
