Tuesdays on the Run

tried & true favorites | Tuesdays on the Run

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is Oldies but Goodies – Running gear you would buy all over again! Check out the link-up with ErikaMarcia, and Patty and see what everyone else can’t live without!

Tuesdays (1)

There are so many items in a runner’s arsenal – shoes, socks, tights, shoes, dri-fit, hats, wearables, belts, shoes, etc. While there are few things that come and go, there are several items that I am glad have stood the test of time, wear, and tear!

Tried & True Favorites

Garmin Forerunner 225

I wear my Garmin everywhere, all the time. There is that once a week, overnight charge session…but other than that, it is always on! My Garmin is my run keeper, my GPS (because I could get lost in a dark hallway), my step counter, my heart rate monitor (the BIG reason I choose this particular wearable), and vibrating “get-up-and-move-because-you-have-been-sitting-too-long” reminder. The purchase of this watch 4 months ago was a personal gift for losing 25% of my body weight and was a great investment in both my running and everyday life. I would totally make that purchase again!

Compression Socks

While the jury is always out on the validity of compression gear in recovery, I could not go a day without my compression socks! I wear them before, during, and after workouts! I am sure that they have helped me recover from those long 10-20 mile long runs – as well as the shorter workouts. Since wearing compression socks, my legs have never felt better 🙂

Tights (All. Of. The. Tights.)

I have a love-love relationship with workout tights! I love them…and I love them! I have quite the assortment of brands, textures, colors, etc. and I wear them all just the same. After losing 25% of my body weight last year, I talked my MIL in sewing the waistband of several of my favorite tights and leggings so I could continue to workout in them without having to hold them up during a run. A couple of my favorites are Old Navy active, Fabletics, Just Cleave, and Marika.

Lightweight Long Sleeve shirts

Working at a sportswear company has its perks – at GTM Sportswear, I am able to purchase “volleyball” uniforms/tops that work well for most of my spring, fall, and winter running adventures! I especially love my Spike, Dig, and Assist tops! Most of the tops I purchased pre-weight loss and I (again) asked my MIL to take in the side seams so I could continue to wear them! The tops are a poly/spandex, pinhole mesh material and are quite breathable! I also wear them into the early part of the summer to keep the sun off my arms – but not much longer due to the heat. These are great tops for layering!

**Disclosure: I am not sponsored or affiliated with any of the brands mentioned in this post – I just love their products! All reviews are my own and I was not compensated for any mentions, reviews, or feedback.
