paleo thoughts
I am still doing well eating mostly Paleo! I still have not touched the scale or taken measurements,…but I do notice a little difference in how my clothes are fitting in some areas. I have noticed that my arms are a little more defined and my legs are starting to do the same.
The biggest benefit that I have noticed thus far is my lack of gut issues. I have always been lactose-sensitive…but I didn’t really restrict my eating because of it. I just ate what I wanted and just dealt with the repercussions later… Now that dairy is a no-no, I have not had any issues!
Also, I have found new and different ways to recreate my favorite grain-based eats. I have experimented with different flours (almond, coconut, etc.) when baking, limited (and mostly eliminated) processed foods from my routine, and I keep fresh options at hand at all times.
My new favorite tool is pinterest – really now, when has it NOT been my favorite tool?! Searching for new paleo friendly recipes is a quick process…while I do not always have the right ingredients, it gives me more options to think about. I am really excited to see how this change will affect me in the coming months!
bananas
Realistic question : Can one person have too many bananas?
While I love eating bananas pre/post workout, I don’t go through them enough and some will ultimately need to be made into something.
Since going paleo, I have found a couple trusty recipes to use my old bananas…but I have found that my freezer is getting the old ones these days. Time to make some nice cream!!
running
Well, having running buddies has been the biggest boost to my routine in a while! There is nothing like the feeling you get when you get a “are you coming” text in the morning!! That was the QUICKEST I have EVER gotten ready for a run…and I was out the door in less than 5 minutes!
Not that I want that to happen again…but it sure did get me up and going!
Also, I have been putting my phone on the charger on the other side of the room… So when that crazy loud noise goes off in the morning, I am REQUIRED to get out of bed and turn it off before it wakes up the ENTIRE house!! Since I am up…I just keep walking and get my morning started 🙂
Yes, that is my actual phone…the earliest times are for my Saturday morning long runs when I know I need to be back by a particular time… No shame!
lol
I just thought this was funny 🙂 Ha! Have a great Thursday!
Check out the link-up with Amanda to see what everyone is thinking (out loud) this Thursday!
