With the hubs out of town, little man and I got “creative” with our weekend π Nothing any more than we usually could…at least I had the energy since I didn’t get to run this morning…
Saturday
Starting a Saturday without running alarms is a little weird…but necessary with the hubs out of town.
Before long, we had a full bed of animals, a little boy, and all of his animals too π
A little breakfast before heading out for the day π
First stop, the Farmers Market. We were meeting up with Andrea, Tanner, and Braxton! Tanner and little man are only a couple months apart…it is going to be fun watching them grow up together π
Next stop : the Sunset Zoo! Since it is a beautiful fall day, we decided to take the boys to the zoo! What is even better is that everyone can walk…and walk a lot! So there wasn’t a need for extra strollers or wagons π
Once we were done seeing the animals, we headed to the playground for a little bit. It was already past everyone’s nap time…so it was going to be hard to pull the boys away from the fun π
Loving on an eagle π #America
Someone was tired after the zoo… He got a solid 30 minute nap heading to the Hildebrand Farm Harvest Festival π
A tractor ride is the first stop!
After our hay ride, we wandered into the back of the building for some tastings. They had cheese, meat, crackers, and lots of flavors of milk to try!
We wandered around a little more and found pumpkins for sale and a mini pumpkin painting area.
When asked if he would rather get some ice cream or play in the corn, little man choose the corn. Typical…
He LOVED playing in the corn the last time we came out to Hildebrand Farms…and he sure had a good time today as well!
I noticed the line for the hay rides dying down so I asked little man if he wanted to ride it again…he said no and went along playing in the corn. I noticed there was no line at the hay ride and based on the time, they were probably stopping for the day.
About that time, little man comes bounding out of the corn wanting to go on a hay ride again… Okay.
We wandered over to where the ride line was before and just hung around to see if there would be anymore going. Luckily, the guy that was helping the riders on and off the ride was standing there and said they would go at least one more time…just for little man. Ha!
A couple more people came over to ride as well…so we weren’t completely alone π
On our way out, we stopped for some ice cream…he enjoyed the cone more than anythingΒ (which is good because we were MAJORLY shorted in the ice cream department…does that LOOK like a large sized ice cream in my bowl?? no…).
I was hoping that little man would take another small nap on the way home…but that never happened.
Once we got home, I still had a little time to go for a run!
We made it 5 miles before little man was pretty upset that he couldn’t push the stroller…and since we were back on sidewalk, I let him out. He made it about a 1/2 mile before he was over pushing the stroller too… He then alternated between racing me on the sidewalk and holding my hand…
I sure hope this kid sleeps well tonight!
After a quick shower, we headed to a cousins house for dinner with family and friends π
Sunday
I started my day with no alarms…again, and I felt a little worthless… I remembered that a couple running friends of mine were running their Ironman today, so I got online and watch some of the live feed until little man wanted up.
Once little man was sort of awake, layered up and went for a run with Angie! We made it more than 6 miles in the stroller…and he got to walk/run with me the last 1/4 mile home. “Run mommy, run!”
Recovery meal for everyone! Eggs + sweet potatoes + PB π
Before too long, it was already nap time…the complaining and freaking out proved it quickly.
Once little man was down, Barley and I relaxed on the couch for a little while…I had like 3 BIG blankets under my legs…so this made the perfect nest for Barley to snuggle up!
The day went on…nothing exciting happening. Mostly just listening to my show or a train show for little man while I meal prepped a little.
- sweet potatoes – check!
- cabbage + turkey – check!
- fresh fruit set out – check!
- romaine + turkey wraps – check!
The hubs returned from Colorado in the evening, helped me say goodnight to little man, and we chatted about his adventures for a bit before I headed to bed as well π
SOOOOO glad he is home safe!

Wow you squeezed a whole lot into the week! I loved reading about all your Fall activities, makes me want to go to the zoo or a pumpkin patch! And this is random, but I hate when ice cream sizes are inconsistent, they need to at least fill the cup!

It’s always nice when you don’t have to wake up to an alarm. Glad you enjoyed your weekend!
Also, I don’t think I realized you had a yellow lab. I have one too! Aren’t they just the best?

Ha Your alarms look like mine except the titles, I don’t know why I feel like I have to have so many instead of just changing the one I have. This trip to the zoo looks like so much fun. I will always love going to them no matter my age!
