Friday
I ended up sleeping in Friday morning…then working all day, went for a lunch run…and then had a fun evening!
First thing, pick up little man from daycare – check! We then headed to Aggieville to park and hang out before the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Parade came down the street. Since it started 1.5-2 miles away, I knew we had a little time to spare.
I decided to head into Varsity Donuts – a local donut shop 🙂 I mentioned something about donuts when I picked him up from daycare, so he wasn’t going to let me forget it. He picked out a Chocolate Chocolate donut, and I picked out a few more to take home to daddy.
The keys to having a good time at Varsity was (1) to stay warm, (2) to eat a doughnut (at least little man – I refrained) and (3) keep little man occupied — I found some dominoes to play with and he had fun lining them up 🙂
Such a cute kid – even with crazy hat hair!
We colored on the wall a little before we headed out to watch the parade 🙂
As we sauntered out the front door, the marching band noise was LOUD!! We had missed the beginning of hte parade…whoops!! We ran out and danced around to the KSU Fight Song and played a bit before finding a small hole to squeeze into to watch the rest of the parade 🙂
After the parade, we headed over to Triangle Park to watch the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas tree…and get some hot chocolate and cookies 🙂
We stood in line for what seemed like FOREVER…and finally got to the front. As soon as we got to the front, the gal hands me a cup of hot chocolate and says that we got the very last cup! Shoot! That was lucky…
We snagged a couple cookies and headed back out to watch the lighting of the tree 🙂 Boy is it pretty! A purple tree! There was a lot of excitement and music around the area – so we decided to go see Santa!
We have not had luck with Santa in little man’s life…he is not fond of the jolly man quite yet… Meeting Santa this year didn’t turn out all that differently than the last. Even though we talked about it, talked about what to tell Santa, talked about him sitting on his leg and saying “HI”, he still had a meltdown 😦
Maybe next year Santa…
Saturday
I started my Saturday with a 10+ mile run – met up with the group for 5 🙂
Once I got home, I QUICKLY got cleaned up and dressed – then got little man around and dressed. We got the road to JC to pick up our Bountiful Basket.
- Big bag or russet potatoes
- 5 oranges
- 7 Roma tomatoes
- Container of cherry tomatoes
- Cauliflower
- 2 mangoes
- 6 bananas
- 2 grapefruit
- 3 lb bag of apples + 4
- Cucumber
- Pineapple
After we picked up the basket, we stopped by Starbucka for coffee and chocolate milk 🙂
We stuck around for am little while…no where to go with any haste. We decided to stop by the Manhattan Farmers Market to see what we could see… I forgot my almost empty kombucha bottle at home, so I now have 2 bottles 🙂 Cranberry Lemon was the flavor for this week!
Once we got home, I turned on the Western State Lottery 🙂 A big race like this would totally be a bucket list race in a few years! It was exciting to hear people in the crowd cheering when they got in!
Around 10:30 am, I turned on the TV to the KSU Football game. The game didn’t start until 11 am but I didn’t want to forget about turning it on.
Before too long, little man and I were both relaxing and settling down for our respective naps.
Our evening plans consisted of Brooklyn’s 1st Birthday party 🙂
Sunday
We did a whole lot of nothing on Sunday… The hubs went hunting all day and we stayed around home cleaning, relaxing and watching TV 🙂
Nothing better than a super lazy Sunday!

Your little man and Santa – I felt so bad! Santa really can be super intimidating! I’m sure watching the lottery was super fun to watch! Happy Running Lindsey! Stay warm out there!
