I really enjoy linking up with Tuesdays On The Run – after all, my blog is MOSTLY running based, with a little real life sprinkled in…
Even though we are nine days into the month, I am linking up with Erika, Marcia, and Patty for Their Tuesdays On The Run to discuss giving my running month a letter grade!
Each month, this grade is going to be based on (1) my current training plan, and my goals for 2017 – (2) my progress for 2017 miles in 2017 goal, (3) training for and completing my first 50 miler, (4) having fun while on the run and (5) keeping a run streak!
(1) Current Training Plan – a plan without a plan – just running! – A
At this time, I am between training plans. My “winter 26.2 training” ended with a disappointing finish…a DNS at the Garmin Marathon due to some questionable health issues.
Since I am pretty set on my course of treatment for hypothyroidism and iron-deficient anemia, I am now playing around with my training for the Hospital Hill Half Marathon in a little less than a month! This course is a fun one with lots of hills and great views of the city. I will be running this race as my first sponsored race through BibRave as a BibRave Pro ambassador – this exciting venture allows me to get into some pretty great races and review some amazing products!
If you would enjoy coming out and playing on the hills of KC as well, use the code “BIBRAVE” at checkout for 10% off your registration (not valid on the family 5K pricing). With the next price increase coming up May 1st, I urge you to register today and save a little cash!! Use that savings at the Health and Fitness Expo
(2) 2017 miles in 2017 – A
Through the health issues last month, I was still able to stay on track with my goal of running 2017 miles in 2017! I hit mile 800 in April and am well on my way to 900 in May!!
(3) Training for and completing my first 50m – n/a (SOON!!)
My training timeline is getting so close to start!! I have spoke to a couple friends about their training suggestions…and I need to work out my plan of action 🙂
I am looking about adding a 50K to the end of July as a training run…and there is a semi-local race that is pulling me in… (more deets to come!) I hope it doesn’t make me feel psycho… (hint hint, ha!!)
(4) Have Fun! – B
Over all for the month of April, I think I am closer to the grade “A” for the month…but with troubling health issues towards the end of the month, I had some major anxiety towards running…and it was not an enjoyable experience.
I have since regained the positive feelings and am working to keep the fun in my running! With some upcoming running and pacing events this month, I know my fun factor will surely increase!
(5) Run streak! – D
Well, my running streak ended last month (#FAIL)…but with every ending comes a new beginning!!
I made it 100+ days before it ended – so here’s to trying for another 100!! I am on day 10 of my new steak – and we’ll see how it goes!!
How are your goals going for this year? Did you set your sights high? Are you thinking about a big race this year?
Check out the link-up with Erika, Marcia, and Patty and see what everyone is talking about this week! I am also linking up with the Wild Workout Wednesday and the Coaches Corner linkup!
I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and start a conversation!

Thanks! Yesterday’s interval workout went well, so I am hopeful that I’ll be able to jump into my 50m training on time 😀😀

I think 100 days of running is pretty awesome, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do more than 5 😛
