I really enjoy linking up with Tuesdays On The Run – after all, my blog is MOSTLY running based, with a little real life sprinkled in…
A couple weeks ago, Erika, Marcia, and Patty discussed, “Giving your running month a letter grade”! I am not always good about posting on time each month, but at least I try : )
This grade is going to be based on (1) my current training plan, and my goals for 2017 – (2) my progress for 2017 miles in 2017 goal, (3) training for and completing my first 50 miler, (4) having fun while on the run and (5) keeping a run streak!
(1) Current Training Plan – N/A
Ever since my mini training plan was thrown off a little due some health concerns and resolutions, this past month has been a blur. While I set up a mini training plan on my Garmin Connect, I haven’t been following it well.
In my mind, as long as I am getting in some miles and not having any more health concerns, then I am on the right track.
While my priorities have been on having symptom-free miles, I have also been thinking ahead to my next training plan. My next big event is the Hawk Hundred 50M event in September…and an additional long training run to add…
(2) 2017 miles in 2017 – A
Even after some lower mile weeks, I am still on track to getting 2017 miles in 2017, barring any major, life changing events…
I am not sure why I think of weeks with less than 30 miles as “lower mileage weeks” but that is just where my head is at…
(3) Training for and completing my first 50m – N/A
My first 50M race is the Hawk Hundred in Lawrence, KS the first second weekend in September – only 14 weeks away now!! While my training plan started a couple weeks ago, those weeks are mostly maintaining my base – which I have been doing between pacing events and races this spring.
(4) Have Fun! – B
Due to some of the health issues I had in May, the fun of running was sucked out of me a little bit… I was certainly more concerned with running symptom-free miles. While I did have fun running last month, it was not NEARLY as much as before.
Now that I am on medication, I have stopped worrying so much! I have been able to have more fun out on my runs and enjoy pacing and racing.
(5) Run streak! – n/a
Since the first time I broke my running streak around 100 days, I haven’t really been trying to streak again.
In June, I will be #streakingwiththeCOOLkids on Instagram! While I don’t necessarily plan on keeping it going after that time, we shall see what happens!
How are your goals going for this year? Did you set your sights high? Are you thinking about a big race this year?
Check out the link-up with Erika, Marcia, and Patty and see what everyone is talking about this week! I am also linking up with the Wild Workout Wednesday and the Coaches Corner linkup!
I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and start a conversation!
