fall race schedule

For this week’s Tuesday on the Run, we are discussing our fall race schedules…but now it is Wednesday…so let’s dive in!

This fall doesn’t quite feel like fall yet… The weather in KS is hot, hot one day and in the 50s the next. Currently, we are stalled in a morning start in the 70s with high humidity – basically still summer…

Now that I finished my big summer/fall race (my first 50 miler), I have my sights set on the remainder of the year…and even next year (…too soon?!).

October 21st – Kansas City Marathon

As I have mentioned a few times already, I am now in training mode for the Kansas City Marathon on October 21st!

Even though I just finished my first 50-miler, I am now set with my training plan for the next 5 weeks leading up to the Kansas City Marathon

Check out why I think you should run the KCM and what I am looking forward to this year! I am super excited to see more of KC since I have only ever run and paced the half marathon. Plus, with the major course changes, I will be seeing more of KC than ever before!

Have you registered? If not, you totally should and use the offer “BIBRAVE17” at checkout for 15% off your KCM distance of choice! Not ready for a marathon? Register for the 5K, 10K, or half marathon distances too!

If I see you on course, I’ll be sporting the BibRave ORANGE!

November 5th – Kansas Half Marathon

Similar to last year, I will be pacing the 2:45 finishers at the Kansas Half Marathon in Lawrence, KS on Sunday, November 5th!

My running pal Angie is running with me and I hope I can get her to a new half marathon PR! Both of our hubs will be running their first 5K – so we will be able to all meet up at the finish line later – or we will pick them up at a brewery after our race… Either way! It should be a great day!

Check out the highlight video from last year!
My “post run Garmin selfie” was used – 0:31 : )

The course has changed quite a bit this year, so I look forward to seeing some new sights in Lawrence. Other than the Hawk out at Clinton Lake, I don’t stop and look around much in Lawrence – more of a pass through town to get home when we go to KC.

November 23rd – A Turkey Trot

Last time our family was in KC, we went to a family/friend brunch with some of my husband’s friends and their parents from growing up in the Scouts. At the end of the meal, it was decided that we were going to join the family Turkey Trot this November! Since we head to KC for Thanksgiving, this would just allow us to eat a little more… ha! We have to sweet talk the other guys to join in… (*cough* BRANDON *cough*) : )

The Future…

While there is a lot of time to think about next years races…I have my sights set on two big ones!

The Psyco Wyco Run Toto Run Winter 50K (I ran the summer course a couple months ago) as a spring goal race and the Hawk 100 for my late-summer/fall race…

Say wha?!

Yeah, I recently (yep, just a couple weeks ago) finished my first 50-miler at the Hawk. But something is calling me back…for more time and more distance…and more…of a lot of things! While I still have a couple months to ponder the 100 mile race distance (registration doesn’t open until December), I am confident that I will be back at the Hawk next year!

Bring on the miles!!

What does your fall race schedule look like?

Do you run similar races each year?

To turkey trot or not to turkey trot? That is the question…

Check out the link-ups with Tuesday on the Run, Wild Workout Wednesday, and Running Coaches Corner crews and see what everyone is talking about this week!

I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and start a conversation!
