A little late is better than never…ha!
Why is it that the week of a running event is the best week to get in some major miles – when I KNOW I should be taking it easy and conserving my energy?? Whatever…we had a good time!
Miss Paisley and I are mapping out the route we will take next week for the next Scooby Doo Virtual Race – the Scoobtober 5K/10K! Join along in the fun! We will be running our 10K anytime from October 28th-October 30th (weather pending). And that is the great thing about virtual races – you can run them whenever it suits you best!!
In the meantime, check out what we were up to last week!
weekly workouts : sept 3
Monday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : 2 mile walk
While a little on the chilly side, the day was just so nice! Little man, the pup, and I walked to the park and played for a little bit – but playtime was cut pretty short because I didn’t wear a thick enough jacket…
Tuesday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : 1.5 miles
A busy day on the books. I started with a 4:30am wake up to get on the road by 5-5:30am so I would be on time to my dad’s appointments and my caregiver training starting at 7:45am. Good thing the traffic wasn’t bad in either direction today and I was able to get everything accomplished and still pick up little man by 5pm!
Last week’s Brew Tour Group Run was cancelled due to the weather – but not this week! The weather was AMAZING this evening – so little man and I joined in the fun. This week, we met up at the Tallgrass Taphouse downtown and Hoka was there to let us test out some shoes. I got to test out a pair of Hoka Cliftons (I need a wider width and the men’s style just didn’t cut it). We ran/walked to City Park (where everyone else ran around a lap or two) and then played at the playground for a little bit – then headed back to the Taphouse. A good time was had by everyone (minus little man whining on the way back…).
Wednesday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : 3 miles
Yaass! I slept in this morning but packed up my lunch run bag – I actually forgot that I needed to take my car into the shop…but that wouldn’t stop me from getting in a few miles! I dropped off my car and hit the trail (which is right behind the dealership)! With family stress conversations with dad’s upcoming procedure, my run halted to a walk while I answered text messages…but I was still able to enjoy getting “lost” on a new trail behind the zoo!
Thursday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : OFF – Today consisted of getting to work EARLY and working as much as I could before hitting the road to KC (2 hour drive). I picked up little man from daycare after lunch (he napped in the car), then dropped him off with the in-laws on my way to dad’s procedure consent appointment. So much paperwork for his procedure to start next week… After his first round (of 4) of his “stem cell releasing” drugs, we were both on the road – I headed back to Manhattan for the night (and work tomorrow) and he headed out to see mom.
Friday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : OFF – I didn’t plan on running today…but I thought I could make something work over my lunch break. I needed to go home and pack up my overnight bag for the race tomorrow …..
Saturday
Scheduled : Kansas City Half Marathon – pacing the 2:50 finishers
Actual : 13.1 miles
It was truly a beautiful day for a long run! The morning was crisp and cool – and the sun warmed us up nicely. I was able to keep quite a few of my runners with our group through the final miles and pushed them to finish ahead of me!
Sunday
Scheduled : no plan
Actual : OFF
Weekly Miles : 19 miles
Annual Miles : 1852 miles (goal = 2,018 in 2018)
