spring training | Endure Strong w3

Disclaimer: I received free entry to Hospital Hill races and also received an Endure Strong training program as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

This week wasn’t the easiest…with crazy weather and rain the first part of the week and a complete lack of time and/or motivation later in the week, I was lucky I got the miles I did!

I have some running plans for this spring and then in the fall…but we’ll see what all gets accomplished. I am not in complete control at this point – but here is what is on the calendar to this point :

  • Garmin Half Marathon (4/13/19) CHECK!
  • Bill Snyder Highway Half (5/25/19) – sweep pace the 3:00+ finishers
  • Hospital Hill (6/2/19) – run with me, any distance really, and save with the discount code BIBRAVE19 – good for 10% off!
No photo description available.
  • Kansas City Marathon (10/20/19) – run with me, any distance really, and save with the discount code BIBRAVE2019KCM – good for 15% off!

While ALL of these plans are in my calendar, I have high hopes that this pregnancy will allow me to run to my heart (and legs) content!

Let’s see how this week went!

spring training | new plan w3

Monday
Scheduled : 3 miles easy
Actual : 3 miles — After yesterday’s morning long run, I could use the couple extra hours of recovery before today’s easy run. But the afternoon heat picked up fast…which didn’t make these “easy miles” all that easy.

Tuesday
Scheduled : 4 mile tempo
Actual : 2 mile walk — Between weather episodes, I was able to get in a mile walk to the pharmacy and back over lunch…nothin exciting or scheduled, but miles are miles!

Wednesday
Scheduled : 3 miles easy
Actual : 3 miles — Today’s Endure Strong workout is 3 “easy miles” but easy doesn’t come “easy” these days. I scaled my pace back and my “easy pace” ended up being a strong paced walk. A humbling day for sure…but I should really just get out in the morning — the heat and humidity don’t affect me as bad.

Loving my Aftershokz for every run and walk!

Thursday
Scheduled : 6x400m @ 1mi pace; 1-1 recovery between + warm up/cool down
Actual : workout (listed above) — 3.1 miles

Yaass!! Cool mornings are the way to get in amazing workouts. The pup had a great workout too!

Friday
Scheduled : 3 miles easy
Actual : 1 mile walk — Some days, that’s all I have time to do…

Saturday
Scheduled : 8 mile long run
Actual : 1 mile walk — After morning rain kept me from wanting to venture outside, I planned on getting in my miles on Sunday. Little man and I walked from a friends house, back to our house, and back to theirs for dinner — and at least kept our BibRave Run/Walk (mile-a-day) Streak alive!

Sunday
Scheduled : “rest” day 8 miles (from yesterday)
Actual : 1 mile walk + hours of garden work

Well…not all plans come to fruition. After snoozing my alarms all morning, I spent the day with the family — it’s Mother’s Day after all! I’m sure if I (the MOTHER) wanted to escape for a run, they would have been okay with my decision…but I didn’t really want to get away 🙂

The hubs made breakfast, we all started some yard work, then traveled around town for yard supplies, my Mother’s Day present (new fire pit for the backyard), vegetables for the garden, and dinner ingredients before settling in back at home for the afternoon.

Little man and I did get out for a walk after his nap (keeping the BibRave Run/Walk Streak alive — one mile at a time!!).

Overall, our backyard received quite the facelift with the garden beds cleaned out, tilled, and planted for the summer — and the hubs cleaned up the patio where we spent the evening hanging out as a family 🙂 Really, it was a pretty great way to spend a Sunday!
