It’s Hot Chocolate 15K & 5K race week and I have been a bit AWOL lately…No training posts or build up for this one.

I gave myself a proper break after KCM to rest and relax — as any runner should!

But the following Monday (the 28th I believe) I had a freak-accident fall in my kitchen. No, I was not running when I hurt myself (surprisingly) — but multitasking dinner, dishes, and baby-holding. Dinner was put on hold, dishes broke my fall (rather the dishwasher door), and baby was protected by my body and he sustained no impacts of the event. On the other hand, I may have damaged my MCL in my fall — but won’t know until I see the sports doc next week. I have been using RICE for the past could weeks so I can walk nearly like a regular human…and I am feeling relatively good for the most part.

I have not been running since my accident and overall started to feel closer to 100% when my knee freaked out again about a week ago. Needless to say, I will no longer be getting my first 15K PB this weekend, but will be likely walking the 5K. Check out how easy it is to change your race distance!

But you know what?! I will still be enjoying the race swag and all of the chocolate treats at that finish line!!

Come run with me on November 16 but register soon! Also, use the code BRHCKC19 for a free Hot Chocolate running hat! Bring on all the chocolate goodness!

  1. Oh my word, I’m so sorry to hear about this accident Lindsey! I hope you’re feeling better soon – sending healing vibes your way. ❤ I usually do the 5k at Hot Chocolate Philly, the distance works well for my friend that I run with. I hope that you have a great time – chocolate heals all wounds?
