Wow,… Thursday…we meet again!…There is a little to talk about with Amanda and her Thinking Out Loud Thursday’s 🙂
Well, this week has been a blur! I have not posted this week…at all…and it has felt like FOREVER since I blogged. A little time away feels good…but I keep thinking about it in the evenings… That changes today!
I have a new running buddy!! Well…not really. It seems like we start training for 5K/10K a each year and then once the training is over, we just part ways. That’s alright though! We are family… We have run twice this week together and it has been great! I have been getting in a nice run and I am able to push her a little out of her comfort zone. I hope that this continues, because it makes it SOOOOO much easier to get out of bed in the morning!
Well, I am in week 3 (or so) of eating a more Paleo diet, and I think it is going great! I have had a couple “slip ups” this past week…but not out of cravings,…but out of being a penny-pincher. For example, I made ravioli for the family this past week…I ate something else for that meal. But when I reheated the leftovers, I knew that the hubs wouldn’t want to eat it another time and little man ate like a bird that night… So, rather than throwing it away, I indulged. It wasn’t a lot…but enough that I was worried that it would derail me completely.
It has been a few days and I am no worse for the wear… And actually, the next morning, I had one of the better feeling runs in a WHILE (since the new eating plan took effect). That was a good feeling! Probably just the carbs talking…
busy weekends ahead
Needless to say, we have been a little lucky lately being able to stay home on the weekends. That changes now…
Little man and I are headed back to KC this weekend for a couple parties 🙂 A baby shower (while little man may or may not be in attendance due to naptime scheduling conflicts) and a family birthday party are on the immediate agenda.
I am also planning a nice long run to start off the weekend right…probably take the linear trail north and then head back…
In the coming months, I will be spending a solo weekend in Colorado, a bridal shower and bachelorette party in KC, and many other here-and-there trips to visit family and friends before the summer is over.
new running belt
I have been using this belt for a little while now, and I am still enjoying it – check out my review on last week’s TOLT! Want to try your own?! Go to Amazon (affiliate link) and use the code “RCE5FGY8” at checkout for 50% off! An amazing deal!
Check out the linkup with Amanda to see what everyone is thinking (out loud) this Thursday!

That running belt is so fun! Have fun visiting KC 🙂
KC is always a good time 😀
I’ll bet it was the carbs talking. 🙂
Running buddies are the best. Unfortunately at the moment I have mostly lost mine. 😦
I feel bad for my long distance running pals without running support close to home… I get lucky from time to time 😀

Well, I don’t run my halfs with anyone — I tried working on a few of my buddies, but it didn’t work out, and probably a good thing since one got injured.
At least I get to start and end with the group (even if they’ve ended long before me!).
I tend to run solo as well…even the “group runs”, I am usually solo behind the pack. Solo 4 Life 😀

“Solo 4 Life” — very clever!
I think I may have finally found some running buddies, and I’m so excited! It helps soooo much with getting out of bed in the morning.
Yes! Accountability is awesome!
