Well, it is about that time again – Runfessions!! How is it already the end of January?! The year just started and it is already 1/12th over!

I have become a weather wimp…
I find myself WANTING to go to the gym rather than layer up and head outside in the morning! I am not particularly proud of this… I would love to be able to take on the elements (because who knows what is going to happen on race day) but some days, I just really would like to run in shorts and a tee shirt 🙂
My interval runs are now a “treadmill only” workout…or at least for the time being.
I find that I am able to push myself while running on the treadmill without feeling “the ease” of giving up. While street running, I can aim for short bursts of speed work, but for long term intervals (10-15+ minutes), the treadmill is my current fave.
I enjoy long runs…longer runs than what my training plan calls for on most weekends. This can pose a problem with my training plan.
While I love being able to run 10-15-20 miles on Saturday morning, I really need to try and keep closer to my training plan.
Or…I need to think up a longer term “training plan” that doesn’t set my Saturday morning distances. My current training plan is set for my next marathon in April…but with longer distance races later this year, the longer mileage is going to be used……eventually!

I am trying to keep my “diet” clean!
I love doing the “clean eating” challenges week to week, but I really just need to grab my diet by the horns and make it a higher priority! Fueling my body to the best of my abilities will not only keep my tummy in check, it will make my race fueling so much easier!

Have you ever packed clothes for the day, gone to the gym, worked out, showered, then realized that you packed two pairs of pants and no shirt?!? Sheesh…I need to pay more attention to my zombie morning gym packing…that, and I need to make sure my piles of shorts/capris/pants/long sleeved shirts are correct!! Grab and go didn’t work out for me this week…

Overall we’ve been very mild here in Chicago this month but it’s been so grey and raw out that running outside hasn’t been fun. I totally get the allure of the gym, which for unknown reasons, has not been crowded. Go figure!
I have a hate/hate relationship with the treadmill! But yes, I do find it useful for doing intervals.
I only seem to do Intervals when I am running on the treadmill bc I can not run on it consistently at the same pace. I wish I could do some speed work outside. But I find myself only going one pace there.
You have some fun runfessions! I enjoy doing intervals on the treadmill too…it’s so much easier for me to execute. My paces are always way out of wack when I do them outside.
