Gym Bag Essentials | Friday Five

img_3363This fancy little bag is what holds my workout/running/gym bag essentials. I received it at a Ladies Night event at a local running store last year! Ever since that event, this bag has been the “junk drawer” of my workout bag…

On any given day, there will be fuel, tape, electrolyte tabs, band aids, KT tape, wipes, socks, long run snacks, bobby pins, hair ties, honey, sunscreen, sunglasses, headphones, a visor or hat, chapped lip stick, a body glide type of product, nail clippers, bracelets, ibuprofen, lotion, protein powder, tea, loose change, a dollar bill or two, pink shoelaces, a Starbucks card… Like I said, the junk drawer.

I cleaned up the bag a little for this post! While all of those random things have their place in my bag, there are several pieces that I could not go a day without!

Gym Bag Essentials | Friday Five

Aftershokz headphonesimg_3371

At any given time of the day, I am probably wearing my Aftershokz Titanium headphones. I am able to hear everything around me as well as the music/podcast/movie/show/whatever that I am playing on my phone!

These headphones are an absolute necessity on the run!

Whether at the gym or on the trail/road, I am able to listen to my favorite things that keep me energized and moving, while also hearing my surroundings!

Being safe while having fun is the most important part of running!

Nuun Hydrationimg_3370

Anther key item in my gym bag are my Nuun hydration tabs!

These little fizzy tabs turn average water into a tasty electrolyte enhanced drink! I keep the Energy flavors in my bag to help give me a boost through my workouts and morning/afternoon runs!

As a Nuun ambassador, I always have a supply of Nuun at home, at work, and always in my gym bag.

Some of the containers in my bag, usually the ones without labels, have various other necessities in them – one with loose change (so it isn’t rolling around), one with bobby pins (because I can never find them when I need them), and one with protein powder (for a post-run protein fix).

Shower Pill wipes img_3366

Typically, when I have my workout/gym bag on hand, I am at work… Let’s face it, if I am at the gym, I can just use the showers after my run!

When I take a runch (a run during my lunch hour), which happens often, I do not have access to a post-run shower – and when the heat is on, the sweat can really start flowing!

These body wipes are GREAT for cleaning up post-run! The anti-bacterial wipe kills 99% of germs and helps you clean up fast!

img_3368Run Gum

Have you ever heard of Run Gum

Run Gum was created by 2x Olympian Nick Symmonds and his running coach as non-liquid form of caffeine to achieve optimal performance.

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy my coffee – especially in the morning. But these handy little packs are easy to keep in my bag and chew whenever I need an extra boost!

SmellWell packs

img_3369My newest gym bag essential are these SmellWell packs!

As a BibRave Pro, I was able to try these little packs – and I jumped at the chance!

Who doesn’t have issues with their running shoes or gym bags getting that dirty laundry or dirty foot stink smell?!

These little packs freshen your shoes or sports apparel/equipment by absorbing moisture, removing odor and prevents bacteria, and adds a fresh scent!

I have been using these packs for a couple weeks now and I am impressed!

The fresh scent is a welcome smell coming from my gym bag!!

I put those little packs to the test – I kept my gym bag, shoes and all, in my car for a day after a sweaty gym session. When I returned at the end of the warm day, no gym bag smell in my car!
