With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I decided to change things up this year 🙂 Last year, I posted some Mother’s Day Gift Ideas…while these still pertain to my life ( *hint hint* ), this year, I am not looking for tangible gifts. I am linking up with the Friday Five 2.0 gals with my five plans for this Mother’s Day!
Friday Five
1 Morning run with no timeline
Some moms just want to sleep in on Mother’s Day…but I just want to RUN!
I don’t get to run out at the Konza Prairie anytime through the week or on Saturday. But on SUNDAY, I don’t have to worry about getting home before the hubs heads out for work and I can truly take in the trails and experience 🙂
I will be getting up and getting out to experience an amazing Konza Prairie sunrise. Will you join me?

2 Brunch
Any gal, mother or not, would love to eat after a good run 🙂
Whether the next meal is made at home by hand or at Early Edition ( soooo great!! ), I would love a filling breakfast/brunch!
3 Afternoon yard work and garden planting
Our yard is needing some serious TLC. I enjoy doing yard work, mowing the grass, and tending to the garden.
At some point on Sunday, we will hit up one or more of the garden shops in town to pick out a variety of garden plants.
I am not quite sure what we are thinking about planting but we usually have tomatoes, different varieties of peppers, onions, and other random vegetables.

Once our choices are made, we will head home and start prepping the garden beds 🙂 ( there is a GOOD chance that I have either pre-prepped the beds and/or mowed on Saturday…no guarantees ).
I just hope that we are not too late with our plantings this year and we are able to snack on garden fresh vegetables this summer and fall!
4 “Camping Dinner” at the lake
We enjoy cooking out during the summer – but that is generally out on our patio and eating in the house.
Rather than stay home, I would love to go by the store, pick up a few necessities, head to the lake, and have a “camping dinner”. Food on the grill, yard games to keep little man and I busy, lawn chairs to hang out, and an evening out in nature 🙂
Doesn’t that sound great?!
5 Going for a family evening walk
I love nothing more than ending the day with a walk with my little man. It gives both of us a little time to release that extra energy from the day and chat about what all we did.
We may be home for the night, but I plan on packing up the bike to take to the lake. Riding around the area while dinner is cooking sounds like a good use of time 🙂
This is probably the cutest video I have seen in a while…I need to teach little man the cannon ball soon 🙂 Sweet momma duck!
Have you planned out your Mother’s Day activities? Would you rather be busy or relax on Mother’s Day?
I am linking up with the Friday Five 2.0 today 🙂
I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and start a conversation!
