Weekly Workout

Run Toto Run 50K w11 | training for 100M

A cold week of running – and a long insteadmill run at the gym. Another week down! I am only a couple weeks out from the Psycho Wyco Run Toto Run 50K – I have already started checking the constantly changing weather reports…and it is looking like a wet one (no good!). We shall see!!

weekly workouts : week 11 (feb 5)

Monday- OFF
Walked to the store in the cold, cold over my lunch break : 1+ mile walking

Tuesday- miles
Tuesday’s are the day that my running buddy and I have the same miles to run – so it is a bit of mutual gain/pain for the both of us to head outside…

4 miles in the single digits = #bamr status

Plus, I was lit up with some Brilliant Reflective safety strips on one of my favorite winter weather jackets! I wear and wash this jacket daily…and the strips are still hanging on!

Wednesday-10 miles
Phew! I thought 4 miles in the cold yesterday was bad – I went out for 10 solo miles today…yep, about 5 minutes before meeting up with my running buddy (mutual gain/pain of running in the cold), she text me saying she was staying in today…whomp whomp.

Wellllll…that stinks.

I really had to talk myself into heading out the door… I was already layered up to head out into the cold but my brain was telling me to scrap it and head to the gym. I headed out into the 5°F (yes, colder than yesterday morning) chill…and it wasn’t all that bad! My arms were a little colder than usual and I was able to talk myself out of heading home early…because swapping todays miles with tomorrow was on my mind quite a bit!

Thursday-miles
Yay! My running buddy was ready and willing to get out this morning! We set out to get the miles that she needed for her training (4-6 miles) and I went a little further after to make up my 8 miles for today. #bebrilliant

Friday-2 miles OFF

Saturday-24 miles 15 miles
While I planned a 10 mile route, my running pal needed 15. Since she headed out with me at 4:30 am, I felt a little more obligated to accompany her the last 5 miles – I had the time and I could take those miles off Sunday’s longer run!

A bright, early start to the weekend – I set out for 10 miles and ended up hanging with my running buddy for an additional 5 miles – my @brilliant_reflective worked well for us in the dark 😉 • Yeah, crazy for some, but it took 5 off the miles I need tomorrow 😉 Plus, we have a winter storm coming through tonight…so my run may be compromised anyway… • As you can tell from my InstaStory, my bottle of @drinkdetach was a nice treat since I ended up running longer than I set out for – another bonus for low-slow runs, less supplemental calories needed 😉 • • • #bibchat #bibravepro #bebrilliant #brilliantreflective #drinkdetach #getdetach #getahabit @buff_usa #buffusa @bocogear #bocogear @bibrave @turtlegloves @rungum #rungum #zensah #womenrunning #womenrunningcommunity #runnersofinstagram #motherrunner #bamr @aftershokz #shokzsquad

Sunday-10 miles 20 miles
Due to the impending (but didn’t happen) “winter weather event”, I made the plan to head to the gym. If I had planned to head outside, I would have been outside – but my mind was made up and I wanted a “warm run.” The mental aspect of running on the treadmill for hours is hard…but snacks, movies, a “treadmill interval workout”, shows, and different drinks helps pass the time…

20 miles on the ‘mill – not my idea of a fun long run – but a productive one! • I went in with a plan – 1.75m with 0-2% grade then 0.25m with 15% grade – 10 times • While not always my best effort, I got it done! With the help of @pjuractive #2skin keeping my arms and legs chafe-free, my @drinkdetach as a refreshing drink with my water and liquid fuel (hello, 20 miles needs a bit more than a 60cal bottle), and snacks! Another week in the books! • • • #bibchat #bibravepro #pjuractice #pjuractive2skin #drinkdetach #getdetach #getahabit @rungum #rungum #builtthepath #runtheday @healthwarrior @garminfitness #beatyesterday #gogarmin @momentumjewelry #justbreathe @brooksrunning #gotoshoe #thankyourunning @zensah #zensah @oiselle #oisellevolée #orangeisthenewfast #womenrunning #bamr #motherrunner
