Run Toto Run 50K w13 | training for 100M

What a week! The weather was crazy…and not in a good way. Which meant that the trails for my weekend race were not so great… “Take what the trail gives you” has a whole new meaning for me now – because I took 5 pounds of the trail with me home… Here’s my last week for this training cycle!

weekly workouts : week 13 (feb 19)

Monday- 4 miles OFF
Whoops! As Mondays always being my day off through this training cycle, I didn’t even check to see if I had a run this morning – I assumed I didn’t. I assumed wrong. Oh well…

Tuesday- 3 miles 4 miles
I have heard of thunder-snow…but not thunder-sleet. Yeah…that is what I woke up to. A frozen solid car and iceballs coming from the sky…with thunder and lightening… Mother Nature, you are crazy!! needless to say, I didn’t get in a morning run, but I did pack my trail shoes and some warm layers to attempt a lunch jaunt.

This weekend is looking to be an interesting one for 30 technical trail miles…crossing my fingers that it clears up some!

 

Wednesday-2 miles 3 miles
I know that I should just run the 2 scheduled miles…but I feel dumb for not running on Monday. So I just shifted Monday/Tuesday to Tuesday/Wednesday… My running buddy is training for her first marathon and I think she gets a kick out of days that she has more miles that I do…so at least I am not tagging along for her 8 this morning!

 

 

 

 

Thursday- 2 miles
More snow and ice…so no morning run, but I head out for a couple of lunch miles before the next “storm” comes in this afternoon!

 

 

Friday-miles
A morning jaunt with the pup (meeting up with my pal for like 0.5 a mile) – I was just happy I didn’t slip on the fresh ice…

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday- 50K Race 20 mile mud bath
While I didn’t get the finish I set out for, I was able to accomplish the hardest 20 miles ever. constant mud that got worse with each 10 mile loop…

 

 

 

Sunday- Recovery, Lazy…

Weekly Miles : 31 miles
Training Miles : 561 miles
Annual Miles : 348 miles (goal = 2,018 in 2018)


Next Week’s Projected Workouts

This week will be a bit of recovery from the 50K – and the amazing weather is taunting me outside… No actual plan for running, but I am going to take it easy!

The next race on the books is actually for a pacing event – the Garmin Marathon in April. So my miles will be in prep for that event!
